SuperHeroHype

May 07, 2015

There’s no official word as of yet on the proposed spin-off for “Agents of SHIELD” or the yet-to-be-titled series in-development with “American Crime” creator John Logan, but check back here for more details as we learn them.

Co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (“Dollhouse,” “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”), who also serve as executive producers along with Jeph Loeb (“Smallville,” “Lost,” “Heroes”) and Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”). “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham as Chief Roger Dooley. It also featured Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Lyndsy Fonseca as Angie Martinelli, and Bridget Regan as “Dottie Underwood,” a member of the Black Widow program. Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb are executive producers on the series.

Agent Carter Heads to Los Angeles for Second Season

SuperHeroHype

May 12, 2015

ABC officially revealed their 2015-2016 Primetime Schedule this morning and with it came descriptions of the second and third seasons for “Marvel’s Agent Carter” and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD,” respectively. The biggest change for the pair will effect “Agent Carter,” which is moving from the New York setting of its first season to Los Angeles for Season Two. It’s plot description reads as follows:

“‘Marvel’s Agent Carter’ returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable secret agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.”

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Carter and is executive produced by Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb.

The new season of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is described as follows:

“’Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’ returns for a dynamic, action-packed third season, as Director Phil Coulson embarks on a deadly new secret mission to protect the world from new threats in the wake of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s wars with Hydra and a rogue faction of Inhumans.”

“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter and Adrianne Palicki as Agent Bobbi Morse. Co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, who also serve as executive producers along with Jeph Loeb and Jeffrey Bell, “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

The series will air Tuesdays at 9 P.M. EST on ABC. The two-hour season-finale is set to air tonight.

Wonder where the location move will leave Jarvis and the rest of the supporting cast.

Comic-Con Poster for Marvel’s Agent Carter Season 2 Arrives

SuperHeroHype

Jul 01, 2015

We learned earlier this summer that the second season of “Marvel’s Agent Carter” would send the spy to the west coast for a brand new case, and the Comic-Con exclusive poster shows her arrival with her partner in crime (and Howard Stark’s butler), Edwin Jarvis. Fans can pick up the poster for free at the Marvel booth (#2339) next week during the event.

“There’s a case that goes beyond what the LAPD or normal local police would be able to handle that falls into their purview,” executive producer Michele Fazekas tells EW. “In Los Angeles, you have the spectacular wealth, glamour and beauty right next to the grit and crime—often right up against each other. We’re very much being inspired by Noir films.”

“We have a nice organic way to infuse Jarvis. That was always the challenge. He’s not an agent. The case for the first season is over, so the biggest question for us this season was: We love Peggy and Jarvis together, that’s a really important relationship, how do we keep them together? LA has provided us a really nice, organic way to do so.”

Not only is James D’Arcy set to return for the second season, but the outlet also reports that Enver Gjokaj’s Agent Sousa will also be on board and that deals for Chad Michael Murray, Lyndsy Fonseca and Bridget Regan to return are in the works.

Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Carter and is executive produced by Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb.

The series will air Tuesdays at 9 P.M. EST on ABC.

Probably 8 like last time since it's a mid-season filler again.

I guess it makes sense in that it's all flashback stuff that's really irrelevant to the current state of the mcu and basically only exists because fans asked for it, but it does strike me as odd that the only female led marvel installment has the least amount of production time. Then again, Peggy carter has had way more screen time than the hulk and hawkeye. How would you measure that, I wonder? I guess, technically Phil coulson has had the most screen time cumulatively of any character in the marvel cinematic universe.

Think of it this way, quality over quantity.

(and when you put screentime that way, look where Daredevil and Night Nurse sit...)

Night nurse?

edit: nevermind. Googled it. Rosario Dawson. Didn't realize she was an actual character. I just figured she was like coulson and Peggy carter; made up as a supporting character in the mcu.

Rosario Dawson (edit: well, she's sort of Night Nurse, she's an amalgam of NN and another Marvel character)

How many films has Peggy Carter been in now?...

Captain America
Captain America 2
Avengers 2
Ant-Man
(supposedly) Captain America 3
plus the Agent Carter One-Shot

...so if Cap 3 is right she'll be one film up on Coulson and one One-Shot down.

Word, but I was also factoring in their tv shows, which I feel like doesn't count in real time as much as some kind of nerd "dog years" kind of thing.
