Some of those new shorts, like the Kung Fu Batman that just started airing last weekend, look amazing.
Others, like the "zoo crew" (although I don't recognize them in the way they were shown), make me scratch my head and wonder.
Still, it'll all keep me DVR-ing the block on saturdays!

So they're showing new DC Nation shorts during the repeated shows?

Yeah. They have been mixing old and new shorts all along. The "Kung Fu" style Batman followed just after the Atom ones ended and have been mixed in with re-runs of SBFF and Titans.

Did the Atom ones actually come to some sort of finale? Or did they just stop airing them for awhile?
I caught the Catwoman one and it was pretty sweet.
There were no new shorts this week that I could tell.

Solid week for the shorts. Both the TT and SBFF were particularly good. "Grundy no fight girls!"

Grundy reconsidering ...
and I loved the little "wink wink nudge nudge" dance that Supergirl did early in the short ...

Okay, the last one today was absolutely hilarious. Kevin playing Batmongoose nearly brought me to tears. "I looked it up! They eat ROOTS!!!" ROTFLMAO!!!

Really? Wow. I guess I got BTAB confused with BTAS. Either way, it was well done.

I find it a little annoying that the claim is DC is trying to find new property possibilities with these cartoons. I mean the Zoo Crew makes a great one off but I have seen like 3 different ones now. Animal Man is funny but not serious I mean most of them just do not take the characters serious I was hoping for a cool Deadman short, Fate, JLI , Titans, JSA 90s JLA or something that at least takes things serious .....

The Atom shorts were pretty serious.
I just don't think the shorts lend themselves well to serious plots, as they're simply not long enough to develop a decent plot.

... and I like that the shorts are a bit more on the comedic side of things. Its a nice balance to the "serious" nature of the full length programs.
I suppose that I was always under the assumption that the shorts were more about exposure and experimentation that a true breeding ground. They are artist showcases for the most part.
I will agree that the format is a bit difficult to run a "serious" tone through. Not saying it can't be done, but the serialized cliffhanger of things like the Atom (and I suppose even the currently running Amythest) is a hard sell in today's minimal attention span marketplace.
I truly don't care about the tone of the shorts going forward as much as I care about the diversity of styles (both artistic and written) and breadth of characters explored.

With MLP blowing up all over, I can't believe SBFF hasn't been green lit for a series. Make it a 15 minute show, pair it up with Adventure Time, and start counting the money.

Yeah.
I'd definitely be down for some SBFF lovin'.
how would the male fan demo be referred to though? We'd need a cool moniker like the Bronies ....
