Eliza Dushku to Voice She-Hulk in Hulk Animated Series

by SuperHeroHype

April 17, 2012

IGN learned from Adrian Pasdar today that Eliza Dushku ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer, " "Angel," "Dollhouse") will provide the voice of She-Hulk in the upcoming animated series, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.

Pasdar, who voices Iron Man on the new Ultimate Spider-Man animated series (and previously voiced Tony Stark in the Marvel Anime: Iron Man series), revealed he will also be guest starring as Iron Man on the new Hulk series.
The former "Heroes" actor told the site that he'd just been doing voice work on Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. the other day with Eliza Dushku, adding, "She does She-Hulk."

Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb revealed at Comic-Con last summer that Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. will feature Hulk, Red Hulk, She-Hulk, Skaar and A-Bomb.

Jeph Loeb Offers Updates on Hulk & Avengers Cartoons

by SuperHeroHype

June 12, 2012

With the success of The Avengers and the way everyone responded to Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, it's no surprise that Marvel has plans for the characters to continue in the realm of television. In an interview with Yahoo!, head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb offered some updates on the two projects.

"There are two huge projects that we're working on. The first, we know the impact that The Avengers had — and continues to have — this summer, and there's one particular character who has been the breakout hit of the summer and he's big and he's green and he's our Incredible Hulk. So we started talking about it and we thought what's more fun than one Hulk? And that would actually be five Hulks! That cast is Hulk; the Red Hulk; Skaar, who's the teenage barbarian Hulk, She Hulk — who's actually been a character in the Marvel Universe for 30 years; and a relatively new character, A-Bomb. He's more of a Blue Hulk. And together they are Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."

When asked about the new Avengers show "Marvel's Avenger's Assemble," he said: "The Avengers movie has been the ambassador to the world for the Marvel Universe so we want a show that has the feel and the tone and the incredible adventures like that movie. So the next project that we're working on — and this is down in our lab, top secret, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents protecting us at all costs — is Marvel's Avengers Assemble, which will be a brand new and really extraordinary looking animated series dealing with the Avengers in that same world."

He was also asked about the addition of Falcon to the team and what he will bring to the team: "Falcon is going to be the eyes of the viewer. He's a new member of the Avengers so he's walking through our stories wide-eyed and with wonder and amazed to be a part of it. He's a little younger than the rest of the cast and a little greener, so he adds an interesting dimension to the team that we think will play really well with the audience."

Comic-Con: Marvel TV Panel Round Up

by SuperHeroHype

July 14, 2012

It seems like Marvel saved a lot of their really cool announcements for their special Marvel TV panel today at the San Diego Comic-Con. Check out the recap below of everything announced by the head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb.

The first thing shown off is a series they're billing as "Marvel Mash-up." This series will serve as short form cartoons to air between shows wherein Marvel animations from the 1980s will be taken and dubbed over with new voices. The video shown at the panel was of a Fantastic Four-centric episode, expect video of it later today.

Next, Loeb switched gears to their Hulk centric cartoon, "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H." He confirmed that the team will be made up of Hulk, Red Hulk, She-Hulk, Skaar, and A-Bomb, and the pilot script was written by none other than Paul Dini. Again, expect the test footage of this that was shown to appear online later today.

Another area touched on by Loeb is the upcoming "Avengers Assemble" cartoon. He confirmed that "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" was NOT canceled and that it was always envisioned to end and be bridged together with the new cartoon.

"The cast has a lot of similarities to the Avengers movie, as they want to reach and appeal to the broadest audience possible."

Jumping gears from television, Loeb started to talk about their Marvel Knights Animation brand. He confirmed that the remainder of Joss Whedon's "Astonishing X-Men" will be coming out later this year (which broke earlier this week). They also announced what the next projects are for the motion comics: Inhumans by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee; Wolverine: Origins by Joe Quesada, Paul Jenkins and Andy Kubert; Eternals by Neil Gaiman and John Romita, Jr.; Wolverine: Weapon X by Jason Aaron, Esad Ribic, and Ron Garney; and Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk by Damon Lindelof and Leinil Francis Yu.

Finally, the panel showed off an as of yet unseen episode of "Ultimate Spider-Man" wherein he is transformed into Spider-Ham (which we have a preview of for you here).

I knew about the 52 episode order for EMH but the fact that they are going to tie it into Avengers Assemble is a new and shocking welcome development. Are they trying to create a Marvel animated universe like they did with the Cinematic one? I'll enjoy this new Avengers cartoon MUCH more if it is in continuity with EMH. This is great news.

The Hulk cartoon sounds cool too.
