FLASHPOINT PARADOX Gets Release Date, Cast, Logline

Announced in 2012, after Superman: Unbound, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation's next animated feature now has a full title, release date, and the first official description and casting information.

Revealed exclusively to Newsarama, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will hit Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, OnDemand, and Digital Download on July 30, 2013, taking the 2011 DC Comics series Flashpoint into the world of animation. That comic book series, by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert, served as the impetus for the "New 52" relaunch of the DC Comics universe later that year.

The storyline wil mirror that of the comics, and we have Warner Bros. Animation's official description for you here.

"When time travel allows a past wrong to be righted for The Flash and his family, the ripples of the event prove disastrous as a fractured, alternate reality now exists where a Justice League never formed, and even Superman is nowhere to be found. Teaming with a grittier, more violent Dark Knight and Cyborg, Flash races to restore the continuity of his original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman's Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans. With breath taking action and an all-star voice cast, it's a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe."

While we can't reveal the full cast just yet (and we wish we could), we can share a few. Kevin Conroy leaked his return to the role of Batman in the film, and WBA confirmed the actor will be playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in the non-Flashpoint era sections of the film. Ron Perlman will be back as Slade Wilson, Deathstroke, Dana Delany returns to Lois Lane. We can also announce that Vanessa Marshall, no stranger to superhero animation having played Mary Jane Watson, Black Canary, Black Widow, Poison Ivy, and more, will be reprising her role from Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths as Wonder Woman. Other pivotal castings including Flash, Cyborg, Reverse Flash, Aquaman, and Thomas Wayne/Batman will be revealed soon.

While it's not the "true" Aquaman, I'm still glad to see Arthur in a meatier role (considering he's had almost no screen time in the DTV's thus far).

"That has yet to be seen!" That's about all he has said in all the DTV movies lol

I'm really looking forward to this. I've liked all of the DTV releases so far, but I have absolutely loved the Justice League centered movies. I can't wait to see the Flashpoint saga played out, and I hope they touch on as many of the side stories as they can.

Don't forget the "I am Arthur!" line when he fished out a waterlogged Superman in New Frontier. If you clocked his screen time, I bet it's 2 minutes tops.

The full cast for Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox was released yesterday and now Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has revealed the cover art and bonus features for the film. Read the full press release below:

Frederik Wiedmann Will Score Beware The Batman and Flashpoint Movie

Warner Bros has just announced that Company of Heroes composer Frederik Wiedmann will be scoring the upcoming film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and the new 3D animated series Beware The Batman. Read the full press release below.

Composer Frederik Wiedmann is proud to announce that he will be composing the music for the upcoming Warner Bros. Animation series Beware The Batman, to air on Cartoon Network. Additionally, the film Company of Heroes, featuring music by Wiedmann, was recently released on DVD.

A fresh, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware The Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues’ gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what viewers have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely new generation of fans.

“Creating music to complement the unique look and vibe of this show is an exciting process, with lots of experimentation,” said Wiedmann. “I've spent weeks digging deep into the world of sound creation and synthesis, exploring new techniques in the world of digital audio, just to give Gotham the right atmosphere and to give the villains in the show their own unique musical character.”

Wiedmann also contributes original music to the all-new Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Original Animated Movies, produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox on July 30, 2013.

“The score for this Justice League story really has everything, from subtle emotion to all-out action, from intricate tension to epic dramatic themes,” described Wiedmann. “It truly was a challenging and rewarding project. This score was recorded in Los Angeles with a wonderful 30-piece orchestra conducted by Hyesu Yang.”

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will be released on DVD and Blu-ray July 30, 2013, and Beware The Batman will premiere on Cartoon Network later this year.
