Joby Harold Crosses Over Into The Twilight Zone

Source: ComingSoon

June 7, 2012

Joby Harold is the latest name to tackle the screenplay to The Twilight Zone. Variety reports that the All You Need is Kill screenwriter will perform a rewrite on the television adaptation, previously scripted by Jason Rothenberg and then rewritten by Anthony Peckham.

Unlike the previous anthology feature that was released in 1983, the new film will incorporate multiple story elements from classic episodes of the 60's series into a single narrative.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Appian Way are developing the film with Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) attached to direct.

Appian Way partners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran will produce with Michael Ireland, while Matt Cherniss will executive produce.

Joseph Kosinski Looks to The Twilight Zone

Source: ComingSoon

August 16, 2013

TRON Legacy and Oblivion helmer Joseph Kosinski is about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. The Wrap is reporting that there's a signpost up ahead. His next stop? The Twilight Zone.

Although a new big screen take on the classic sci-fi anthology series has been in the work for some time from Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Productions, there have been few updates since Matt Reeves' name was connected to the project in 2011. He wound up taking on next year's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes instead (the franchise of which shares a common creator in Rod Serling).

The original "Twilight Zone" series ran for five seasons starting in 1959 on CBS, with Serling creating the series and writing more than half of the 156 episodes. Steven Spielberg and John Landis produced and directed segments for the 1983 WB feature film, Twilight Zone: The Movie.

The new film features a screenplay by Jason Rothenberg, Anthony Peckham and Joby Harold. DiCaprio is producing alongside Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Michael Ireland, while Matt Cherniss will executive produce.

Screenwriter Ari Eli Coleite Enters The Twilight Zone

Source: ComingSoon

August 23, 2013

The Twilight Zone feature film continues to swap out writers and directors. Recently, Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion) was brought in to helm the film (replacing Matt Reeves), which has been in development since 2009.

Variety now says Ari Eli Coleite is going to write. Anthony Peckham (Invictus) came before him and before Anthony, Jason Rothenberg. Rand Ravich and Joby Harold also took a crack at it as well somewhere along the way.

Coleite's credits include television shows like "The River" and "Heroes".

Leonardo Di Caprio's company, Appian Way, is still producing for Warner Bros. The film will not be an anthology - like the '80s feature - but will instead be a single story with various elements from "The Twilight Zone" series.
