Source: ComingSoon

March 1, 2011

Jonah Hill is eyeing a 2010 Black List comedy, The Kitchen Sink with plans to direct, Deadline is reporting.

Written by Oren Uziel, The Kitchen Sink features a human, a vampire and a zombie teaming up to prevent an alien invasion, the title a play on some of the story's overtly cinematic elements.

Hill is next set to appear in Moneyball and The Sitter, with production about to start on 21 Jump Street as well.

The cast for Sony Pictures' The Kitchen Sink began forming earlier this year with Mackenzie Davis, Nicholas Braun, Chris Zylka and Josh Fadem signing on. Today, The Wrap is reporting that Denis Leary is also set for a role with Vanessa Hudgens currently in talks.

The horror-comedy follows a human, a vampire and a zombie as they band together to take on an alien invasion. Robbie Pickering will direct the movie based on the Black List-honored script by Oren Uziel. Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man) is producing.

Leary recently starred in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man and can be seen next year in Ivan Reitman's sports comedy Draft Day. Hudgens, meanwhile, recently hit the big screen in Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers and can be seen coming up in Scott Walker's The Frozen Ground, set for a limited release August 23.

Freaks of Nature Red Band Trailer Pits Humans, Vampires, Zombies and Aliens

By ComingSoon

October 17, 2015

On Friday, October 30, moviegoers across the country will have to take on zombies, vampires, aliens, and more as they get their first chance to see Sony Pictures Entertainment’s new horror/comedy Freaks of Nature (previously known as Kitchen Sink) in a special engagement. You can watch the Freaks of Nature Red Band trailer below!

In Freaks of Nature, we welcome you to Dillford, where three days ago, everything was peaceful and business as usual: the vampires were at the top of the social order, the zombies were at the bottom, and the humans were getting along in the middle. But this delicate balance was ripped apart when the alien apocalypse arrived in Dillford and put an end to all the harmony. Now it’s humans vs. vampires vs. zombies in all-out, blood-sucking, brain-eating, vamp-staking mortal combat – and all of them are on the run from the aliens. It is up to three teenagers – one human, one vampire, and one zombie – to team up, figure out how to get rid of the interplanetary visitors, and try to restore order to this “normal” little town.

Commenting on the announcement, Matt Tolmach, the film’s producer, said, “I’m so excited for audiences to experience ‘Freaks of Nature.’ We’re so proud of this amazing cast — Nic, Mackenzie, and Josh, along with Denis Leary, Bob Odenkirk, Keegan-Michael Key, Ed Westwick, Vanessa Hudgens, Patton Oswalt, and Ian Roberts. It’s hilarious and terrifying — a perfect Halloween movie.”

Freaks of Nature is directed by Robbie Pickering, written by Oren Uziel, and produced by Matt Tolmach, and stars Nicholas Braun, Mackenzie Davis (who can be seen on screen in the hit film The Martian), and Josh Fadem.
