That's good news. While there have been some duds, I've enjoyed the first season as a whole.

Colton Haynes Teases More DC Heroes in Season 2 of Arrow

by SuperHeroHype

May 21, 2013

Actor Colton Haynes is getting a bump from recurring character to series regular for season 2 of Arrow and since his introduction into the show, there has been speculation about whether his character Roy Harper will join Oliver Queen as he does in the source material. Though he doesn't confirm it, the actor spoke with MTV about "important DC characters" coming to the show.

"A few of the most important DC characters are going to be coming to 'Arrow,'" said Haynes. "And quite possibly working in a team together."

What team do you think we will see in the series? Could it be an early version of the Justice League? Or will it be "Team Arrow," consisting of Oliver Queen, Roy Harper, and Laurel Lance? Time will tell, but check back here on any new characters joining the series in the future. Who do you want to see join Arrow in its sophomore season?

Arrow will return for its second season this fall on The CW.

Stephen Amell Talks Arrow Season 2

by SuperHeroHype

May 30, 2013

The CW's freshman season of Arrow wrapped up just a few weeks ago and fans are already anticipating the return of the series in the fall. IGN spoke with Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell, about the upcoming season and what we can expect.

"We’re just going to find everybody in a different place. I think we’re actually going to find Oliver literally in a different place at the beginning of next year. It’s our second season, but it’s kind of like a new series. So I’m excited."

When asked how Oliver would handle the explosive finale in the new season, Amell said:

"The reason that he was the vigilante, the Hood, all that stuff is gone now. Merlyn’s been stopped, the list is essentially somewhat obsolete, the Glades are destroyed. If he’s going to become the vigilante again or something different, he’s gonna need a new reason."

Previously, actor Colton Haynes teased that "A few of the most important DC characters" were coming to the world of Arrow and Amell echoed that sentiment by saying, "Arrow's world is growing..."

Who do you want to see appear in season 2 of Arrow?

Summer Glau Joins Arrow for Major Role in Season 2

by SuperHeroHype

July 10, 2013

With production having just begun on the second season of The CW's Arrow, we can expect plenty of casting announcements for the series going into the future. The first one comes today from The Hollywood Reporter that Firefly alum Summer Glau has landed a major role in the new season. Glau will take on the role of Isabel Rochev, who is described as "enigmatically beautiful" and "dangerous." Her character will work for Stellmoor International, which is looking to buy out Oliver Queen's family company Queen Consolidated. She'll make her debut in the Season 2 premiere.

Rochev first appeared in the Green Arrow comic books just three years ago where her character rose to the top of Queen Industries and sought to bring it back to its former glory, seeing herself as the rightful heir. It would appear this intense rivalry between the two of them will carry over into the television series.

Star Stephen Amell has spoken about the upcoming season and teased that it will feature "a growing world" for Oliver Queen. New series regular Colton Haynes has also teased that "a few of the most important DC characters" will be joining the series.

The first season of the series will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on September 7th with Season 2 premiering on October 9th.

Has Katie Cassidy left the show? Her name isn't in the cast credits in the above post.

Arrow Producer Teases Season 2 Easter Egg

by SuperHeroHype

August 08, 2013

The CW's hit series Arrow is no stranger to DCU Easter eggs. From a Blüdhaven reference in one episode to an appearance by the Royal Flush Gang, it's had some obvious and obscure material for fans hidden in its episodes. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed something today that will make an appearance in the upcoming second season of the series and once again hints at the larger DC universe.

In the image below you'll find a mock-up for a van that is set to appear in one of the new episodes and it has the logo for "Metamorpho Chemical" along the side. This of course is a reference to Rex Mason aka The Element Man/Metamorpho. It seems unlikely that the character will appear with his shapeshifting abilities, but with Barry Allen (The Flash) set to appear in three episodes, star Colton Haynes teasing the formation of a team, and the new tagline reading "City of Heroes," it's not completely out of the question.

Arrow season 2 premieres on Wednesday, October 9th. What other DC characters are you hoping to see in the new season?

The Killing's Bex Taylor-Klaus Joins Arrow as DC Character Sin

by SuperHeroHype

August 15, 2013

TV Line is reporting that Bex Taylor-Klaus of "The Killing" is set to appear in the third and fourth episodes of the new season of Arrow as the DC character Sin. In the context of the TV series Sin is said to be trouble making teen with a connection to Starling City's new hero Black Canary (played by Caity Lotz) as well as Colton Haynes' character Roy Harper.

The character had a similar origin in the comic books where she became the foster daughter of Black Canary and an associate of the supergroup the "Birds of Prey." In addition the character was a highly trained martial artist, and in line as the successor for Lady Shiva.

Previous reports on season 2 of Arrow have hinted at the formation of a team in the series. Many assumed it would be an Oliver Queen lead to team, but we're starting to think it could be the Birds of Prey with Black Canary and Sin. What do you think of the character's addition to the show? Sound off below!

Arrow season 2 premieres on Wednesday, October 9th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Homeland's Navid Negahban Joins Arrow in New Villain Role

by SuperHeroHype

August 22, 2013

E! News has learned that "Homeland" star Navid Negahban has been cast in the upcoming season of The CW's Arrow as the villain Al-Owal. Owal is a new character to the DC canon, but his name translated from Arabic means "The First." The character is said to be a member of the League of Assassins, the same group that trained John Barrowman's Malcolm Merlyn in the series, and which is lead by Ra's al Ghul in the comic books.

What is even more interesting about this new character and his connection is that he will debut in the fifth episode of the new season, which is titled "The Demon's Head." This of course is the translation of "Ra's al Ghul" from Arabic. Though it hasn't been confirmed for Ra's to appear in the TV series, it certainly seems like a possibility now.

What do you think of this news? Sound off below!

Arrow season 2 premieres on Wednesday, October 9th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Amanda Waller Set to Appear in New Season of Arrow

by SuperHeroHype

August 29, 2013

The CW's Arrow is expanding its roster with DC comic characters at an ever growing pace for the new season. SpoilerTV is reporting that the sixth episode of the season will be titled "Keep Your Enemies Closer" and will feature the debut of a new season regular, Amanda Waller! Check back here for casting on the character in the near future.

Waller has long been a "Nick Fury" type in the DCU but with a more sinister side to her work. Heading up A.R.G.U.S., who has already appeared in two episodes of Arrow, and putting together the Suicide Squad, Waller is a formidable opponent in the DCU. It's said in her debut episode she will send an A.R.G.U.S. team out to kidnap John Diggle.

She isn't the only new DC character set to appear on the new season of Arrow which will also feature Caity Lotz as Black Canary, Michael Jai White as Bronze Tiger, Kevin Alejandro as Sebastian Blood, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Sin, and the series debut of Barry Allen aka The Flash later in the season.

Arrow Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, October 9th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

It would be nice to see her portrayed in her pre-52 form, rather than the new 52 version. But I'm sure they'll go the latter route.

It is the CW after all.
