Somehow I missed that it was an "original movie" and thought it was just a repackaging of old episodes.

Since I'm heading to Target (not the same one I've been having customer service issues at mind you) at lunch, I guess I'll pick it up then and let you know what I think about it.

It's a new movie then? I'll have to pick it up.

Edit: Just went down to Target and got it. Wild that I never heard of it. Was it ever formerly announced by Warner Brothers?

Yup. Its a new movie, exclusive to Target (for a limited time).

back of the box says:

"Get ready for a battle of the ages when the Justice League faces off against its archenemies, the Legion of Doom, in an all-new movie from DC Comics. A mysterious being known as the Time Trapper arises, and a sinister plan led by Lex Luthor sends the Legion of Doom back in time to eliminate Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman before they become super heroes. For Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg, along with teen superheroes Karate Kid and Dawnstar, the stakes have never been higher, the rescue mission never deadlier. So join the fight for the future as the Justice League confronts its ultimate challenge ...
the threat of having never existed!"

also includes 2 bonus episodes but doesn't say from which shows.

Total run time is listed at 53 minutes. Currently 12.99 in stores.

I'll be watching it tonight after work so I'll answer any questions tomorrow.

It's pretty much an updated Super Friends episode where Lex goes back in time to change the Super Heroes' fates. The movie is from the point of view of the younger characters. Marvin, Wendy and their dog even make a cameo appearance. This obviously has a smaller budget than the more marketed DC animated movies and it shows in the animation styles, character designs and voice talents. Still, it's a decent movie and nowhere near the abomination that "Superman: Brainiac Attacks" was.

I enjoyed it and think there will be more JLA adventures in this series to come, and I for one welcome them. It was a fun little story

Definitely Fun.

Extremely Hokey though. It really felt like a vehicle to help sell more Target Exclusive Justice league toys. Not quite Total Heroes style, not quite Imaginext style, not quite nu52 style .... but a nice fit that kinda sorta worked with all of them ... -ish...

Voice acting was nicely done, better than the scripting at least. And it definitely hit the nostalgia strings for anyone who watched the old Super Friends cartoons back in their original release (I hesitate to call it "their prime" because I don't think they ever actually had a prime)...

Worth checking out, for sure. But not a "must have" by any stretch.

How big a role does Aquaman play?

'Cause I'm thinking about ignoring this one.

It's better than most of the DC Universe Animated Original Movie projects. Its quality is about as good as a slightly above average episode of Justice League: Season One.

Where did you hear that? If that's the case the cliffhanger ending won't bug me as much as it did here. I was REALLY enjoying the movie until then.

This is cool. It has enough random elements to make me interested.
I am actually way more interested in this than Justice League: War.
But I do not understand this "stealth release" idea. Who is going to buy it, much less be interested in it, if people do not know it exists?

I bought it, on a scale from 1 to 10 I give it a solid 7.5 only because it was a reasonably decent story and you did get to see a lot of villains too. The WB needs to bone up on their "time travel" theories a little before actually making a movie centered around it. Other than that it was a good flick. I recently got an advance copy of Justice League: War... I liked that one a lot more.

I did enjoy the fact that Karate Kid-- had Samurai's uniform-- and Dawnstar's outfit seemed to be a Black Lightning reminiscent color scheme..

And the whole stroller sequence pretty much showed me that this thing was trying to be a 70's Superfriends revamp.. Not just in characters-- but in the goofy situations and resolutions..

WB needs more movies like this, sorry but Justice League War, which I heard is pretty much non stop violence, is not going to bring in the younger crowd. I thought Trapped in time was very fun! I mean it starts right off with a bang, no ohhhh its a half hour till we see a costume bs. I watched it again yesterday just wish they tossed a Batman villain in the Legion of Doom.

Watched it last night after work. Definitely a fun 53 minutes and indeed very reminiscent of the Super Friends.
Excited to see if they release more.

On a related note, little brother freaked out when toy man was the baby when Flash handed him over to the Kents :P
