Cyborg's Burger cheer is AWESOME!

I think I want to make it my new ringtone...

Teen Titans Go! Season 1 Part 1 DVD Coming This March

by SuperHeroHype

January 07, 2014

Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network have announced this morning that the new animated series Teen Titans GO! is headed to DVD. Featuring all 13 episodes from the first half of the show's first season, Teen Titans GO! Mission to Misbehave will be released March 4, 2014.

The principal voice cast from the original Teen Titans series, based on DC Comics characters, reprise their roles in Teen Titans GO!, with Scott Menville as the voice of Robin, the slightly power-mad perfectionist and leader of the Teen Titans. Hynden Walch voices Starfire, an alien struggling to fit in; Tara Strong voices Raven, the sardonic, deadpan demon girl; Greg Cipes returns as the slightly dim but always loveable loafer, Beast Boy; and Khary Payton provides the voice of Cyborg, a laidback kid who is half teen, half robot.

Teen Titans GO! airs on Tuesdays at 7:30/6:30c.

Pass.

It's fun to watch, but I have no desire to add them to my collection.

Let me know what you thought of it. On the one hand, it's pretty silly, but there are A LOT of Easter Eggs for older fans, especially in the backgrounds (posters, signage, computer screens).

Through the first disc-- and its clearly written for the preteen crowd and yes it borders on the absurd--as each character has now gone to the overplayed extreme level of their character flaws and unconnected storylines and non consequential endings (they all die in one episode)..

But I still like when they shoehorn in characters from the first series (like Mother Mae Eye and Jinx)-- and the one second freeze frame gags enough to make it enjoyable for me, Like the Voltron Yellow Lion Leg as an alternate armor for Cyborg, Deadman crawling for a canteen of water under Starfire's bed, the Ras Al' Ghul sarcophagus and the constant appearance of Batman and Gordon, doing guy stuff (like fishing)-- not to mention they are actually able to say Batman on this version.

Although I enjoy most cartoons (although most of the the god awful current cartoon network not included), and watch cartoons over live action TV as much as possible, so I may be the last one to ask..

The show is brilliant in its absurdity.

The Burger v Burrito debate? Awesome!
Robin accepting the role of "The Leg"? Hysterical!
Power Moves? Insane!
Free Pizza shenanigans? Loved It!

even simple things like Raven's love for "ponies" all come together to make this a terrific waste of time in the most enjoyable way.

And season 2 only makes it better....

While I enjoy/enjoyed the show very much CN really killed me making it appointment viewing every week. Can't even remember the last time I sat down to watch DC Nation. Losing Beware the Batman and not having a continuing storyline to comeback to each week for a lead-in is a big part of what did it. The other was tuning in for a "new" episode of TTG and only getting half of an episode that hadn't aired before and the false promise of "brand new" DC Nation shorts each week.

I will say that I think my favorite episodes have been ones with guest heroes. The one with the Beast Boy replacement try-outs, Speedy's date with Starfire and even the girls' night on the town with Jinx. I was sort-of pondering this at work a couple of days ago and thought it would be great to see a visit from the Super Best Friends Forever with the same voice actors and personalities in play. I could see BB trying to put the moves on Wonder Girl, Supergirl trying to one-up Starfire and Batgirl mercilessly teasing Robin about being all grim and serious and not getting to wear a bat-suit.

Titans West was touched upon in the old show, right?... That could make for some fun, too.
