If you've already purchased tickets for AMC Theatres' Ultimate Marvel Marathon, which culminates with Marvel's The Avengers, then lucky you as it's already sold out a month ahead of the release of The Avengers. The full press release follows:
AMC Theatres announced today that advance tickets for MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS, which is the culmination of The Ultimate Marvel Marathon, have sold out at 10 AMC locations across the country, a month ahead of the event. Based on the high demand AMC is adding additional marathon shows at participating theatres. The definitive fan experience features six movies, including the May 4 midnight debut of the highly anticipated MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS.
"In just three weeks since advance tickets went on sale, the response from Marvel fans and AMC guests has been tremendous – selling out screenings across the country. We are thrilled to meet the demand by adding additional shows of The Ultimate Marvel Marathon leading up to the midnight release of MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS at participating AMC Theatres," said Robert J. Lenihan, President of Film Programming at AMC Theatres.

The Ultimate Marvel Marathon begins May 3 at 11:30 a.m. and will feature the following films in order:

For just $40, fans can experience the marathon, including MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS. Guests will receive an event lanyard and may receive a pair of limited-edition Avenger character RealD 3D glasses, while supplies last. Due to demand, not all guests may receive limited-edition glasses. AMC Stubs members who purchase a ticket prior to May 3 will receive $5 Bonus Bucks on their AMC Stubs account, valid the day of the event.

While that is cool, I really want to see it in a theater and not after I've watched it on the small screen. I'll wait until May 4 - or more likely, the following Tuesday.

It's not the movie, it's the red carpet premiere. What you'll see is the stars arrive and do interviews.
Cobie Smulders appeared on "Late Show with David Letterman" and brought along the second clip from Marvel's The Avengers featuring her character, Maria Hill, and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury.
