R.I.P. Macho Man

Florida Highway Patrol ... Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... and "collided head-on with a tree."

Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.

Savage's wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision -- but survived with "minor injuries." She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.

Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, says the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM ... and lost control of his vehicle.

Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.

Savage was 58.

Wow. I didn't know they had only been married a year. So sad.

Yes it's very unfortunate. Unfortunate as well that he was never inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame while he was living. It's crazy to think that not only is Savage gone but also his 2 most notable managers Miss Elizabeth and Sensational Sherri Martel are both also gone. As it relates to toys, we just recently started to see him reappear in toy lines for the first time in about 10 years. What a shame. He does however leave an awesome wrestling legacy behind. The guy was one of the best workers in "The Business" that I've ever seen and could cut some insane yet entertaining promos. Best wishes to his wife Barbara Lynn and brother Lanny Poffo and his mother whom I believe is still with us today. Really one of the best of all time.

I'm so saddened to hear of this.

Hopefully, on Monday, they will have a moment of silence. He truly deserves it.

I'd like to hear an "oh yeah" in that famous voice of his one more time, but it just would feel wrong.

I know its been over a year, but I got back into wrestling this summer, and it just makes it even sadder.
I broke out my wrestling figures and put on a show.
But there is just a big hole there since he is gone.
I have this NWO angle going on now that he would have been perfect for.

Really sad.
He was one of my favorite wrestlers.
A ten time champion in my little action figure fed.
