Interesting notion, anyway -- and there's already a call for it to be made into a G.I. Joe vehicle on a couple of Joe-related message boards.

Of course, I just love this line from the article:

"Dubbed the Transformer, the vehicle — at least an artist's rendering of it — looks like a toy commando truck out of a G.I. Joe cartoon."

So does the ARTWORK! When I called up the page and saw the artist's conception, my first thought was, "Heck, just use this on the package..."

So let me get this straight -- the Pentagon wants a flying Humvee -- they're calling it the TRANSFORMER, and it's already being compared to a vehicle in a G.I.JOE CARTOON!????!

And -- it's nowhere near April 1.

Oh my. Don't we have better things to spend money on like better body armor for our soldiers than this ridiculous monstrosity?

We all ready have The RHINO for the Joe line which accomplishes the same thing...that jeep thing just looks silly.

I can totally see it being made from Lanard or one of the cheesy Walmart knock-off lines.

Meh.

For real. It doesn't look like anything I'd want as a toy.

The vehicle kind of looks like a futuristic autogyro.
