[quote="gleek"]i cleaned the sand off of a sandtrooper but need to repaint the helmet....i've got some art skills. drawing with brush and ink...just need an idea what the best paints would be.
quote]

Nice job. Looks slick like that.
My dirt seemed ok but I saw plenty where it was just WAY too much.
To paint up the helmet, just yse some nice acrylics.
That's water-based paint, NOT the enamel, which need to be cleaned with thinner or tupentine.
Any will do. Go get some at Michael's,
but if you really want to use something nice that will be a bit stronger and hold up to play better, try some of the many nice acrylic miniature painting paints, like the ones used on D&D miniatures or Warhammer miniatures.
Good luck!

Also, you guys saw the new photos of Wave 3 (2013 Wave 1) on the front page? Holy crap, does the Bespin Luke look like dog poo compared to the prototype they showed.
Hey, I know better than anybody the difference between a prototype and production piece, but MAN, that is a BIG difference.

Well...looks like Wave 3 is only three figures, and Anakin is left out. BOOOOOO.

And with that wave becomes acres and acres of Lukes- sometimes for every step forward Hasbro makes, I think they take two steps back.

That is the version of Luke I always liked the best, so I will be buying him after passing on the Pilot version.
The big question is whether I'll bother getting the black suit Jedi Master version after that.

Can't wait to get Greedo!

Stop that! I can't afford to get these! :)

I can't either! It was in the Hasbro NYCC swag bag. I can afford free. :)

My buddy picked up Boba Fett for me a few days ago at an outlying Target. He is a very nice figure. Other than Han, I don't know if I'll get any others from this wave.

Well they gave me 2 of my top 5 characters in this wave- Fett/Greedo-

(and 2 (Ree Yees and Khruuk) of those will never see the light of day in this line) so I can get in and out of this line easily.. Maybe one day they may throw in Zuckuss..

I bet every main bounty hunter is made sooner rather than later. The only one I might balk it is Dengar. He's just tough to make look cool.

But I will be all over Zuckuss, 4-Lom, Bossk, and IG-88.

I found a lone Greedo at Target over the weekend. I'd really like to get Slave Leia.

I've noticed that every time Wave 1 is restocked, the Sandtroopers are the first to go. The R2-D2 figures are plentiful. Is it really that bad, or is everyone waiting for a deluxe droid set?

I don't think you'll have a hard time finding Leia. Most places here are on wave 2, with Greedo and Leia being the holdovers in every instance. If you can't find one in a couple weeks, I'll pick one up for you no problem.

Thanks! That's very nice of you to offer, and I appreciate it. I'll keep you posted on my efforts to find her.

I guess I'm lucky I was able to get Boba Fett at SDCC and Han Solo at NYCC. I might just turn to my LCS for future waves. It saves time, and the owner offers a 10 percent discount on preorders. I ended up going there for the latter half of the DCUC line, which made the hunt so much easier.
