These guys have been out in some parts of the country - or through online sources - for MONTHS now, but I just finally found them last week. Yep, it's the second wave of Hasbro Marvel Legends, and I've split the review in two, covering 4 at MROTW and 4 at QSE. Just like the first series, the paint is the weakest feature, and also just like the first series, the BAF is the best figure of the bunch. You can find all the links at the usual: http://www.mwctoys.comThanks for reading! Michael MWC

Thanks for the review, Michael! I've already gotten She-Hulk and Quicksilver but deciding on Thor and Xorn.

My favorite thing about this wave is easily the fact that Thor comes with a giant axe and a disembodied head. He's fun to play with even if you don't build the rest of the figure.
I'm not familiar with that costume but it is a great figure. Marvel Legends has had a history of doing Thors pretty well actually.
Great review as usual Mike.

I love these figs! Like Mike said, the plastic is much sturdier than ToyBiz used and that makes a huge difference for a guy like me that has a curious 2-year-old that is an incredible climber and very determined when he sees a forbidden object. I like Thor best also, but I also love my She-Hulk and Yellowjacket. Can't wait to get Quicksilver.

I won't pay $10 for these, so the only reason I've been getting em was cause of the $5 off coupon survey thingy KBToys was doing. I think it got canceled just a few days ago though, so I probably'll wait on getting more of the figs unless they're on sale. Except for maybe Thor, KB had already sold out of him but since you all say he's pretty good, he sounds worth getting. I had my hopes set on the Giant Man Thor, but in y'alls opinions, which is better? HML or TB? Thanks, JJ

I'm a sucker for classic costumes so from that slant, I would prefer the Giant-Man fig. Quality wise though, Hasbro is kicking ToyBiz' can! I also do like the more Vikingesque costume Thor is sporting in the Hasbro version and it goes well with my recent 6.99 Thorbuster Iron Man find from Tuesday Morning (great surprises there sometimes). Overall, I would say Hasbro wins.

-R Wow, you're about the only one.... I'm not all that dissatisfied with Hasbro, but a lot of collectors are. As Michael points out in his review, the one thing Hasbro had going for it was better availability. Well, they sure blew that with this wave. I think Michael does a really good job in this review summerizing the drawbacks to the Hasbro figures. They are doing a nice job with the sculpting, but the articulation and paint is simply a step backwards from what ToyBiz was doing. Marvel figures just seem to have lost a lot of momentum. A friend of mine, who's put together every BAF so far (often within a week of release) still hasn't finished the Blob, because he's just not motivated to. I think that's getting to be pretty common.

Tell him I would love his pieces if he doesn't want them.

I'd trade ya mine, R! Yeah, I see what you mean by a downgrade in paint and articulation, but then the plastic is Waaaayyyy better on these new figs. Availability to, except for maybe the IM fig. I never saw him on the pegs. And Robiwan, did they have anymore of the ML figs at Tuesday Morning? I need to find the Captain Marvel and Moon Knight fig but my KB sold out.

-R Thanks man! I'll swing by a Tuesday Morning sometime myself anyhow, so thanks for the tip.

I think you were way too kind about that Wolverine face... a combination of odd sculpt, no flesh paint, and scary caterpillar eyebrows make it the worst-looking Marvel figure I've seen in a long time! Still, you're fair on everything else especially the high price.
The one thing I do want to question on that though is whether you're fair in reviewing Mattel's DC Superheroes. They're at the same price and include even fewer accessories with no BAF part. Hasbro has certainly been giving us less than Toy Biz did for $2 less a figure, but they're still better than Mattel in terms of value. I don't recall you being as tough on Mattel for their price.

Yeah, but some of those DCSH figures are absolutely SWEET. Lightyears ahead of ANYTHING Hasbro has churned out for Marvel Legends. I'm talking about their Darkseid, Mongul, Azrael, Batgirl and the newer Batman figures, becaase these are the ones I have. I didn't mind the higher prices and lack of accessories on these because the sculpt, paint and poseability just far outweighed any shortcomings.

I saw both Quicksilver and Yellowjacket at Target yesterday. Quicksilver looked pretty cool except for the articulation on the abdomen. Yellowjacket looked just plain goofy.
