Except that the collector's portion of that market looks forward to Toy Fair every year, and has as much coverage of Toy Fair as any other event of the year... At least Mattel could have said, "hey geeks, there won't be much to see, don't get your plane ticket for TF, save it for the comic cons..." I'm partially kidding.

The bottom loine and the real nitty gritty is this. If boy wonder and Mattel ate now in the planning stages for the rest of 2007 and early 2008 which may or may not be the end of this line...which to this point has been great... so please don,t take offence to some of my earlier negative post. the fact is I am a big kid at heart and a big fan boy who at times has trouble controlling his emotions over a line that he really cares about and supports. At this stage of the game the absolute must have figures left to be made are Grodd/Giganta/Cheetah/Commander steele/stripe/Atomic Skull/Devil Ray/Killer Frost/Weather Wizard/Toyman/Doctor Destiny/ Doctor Polaris.

It's all good, man. You have passion for this line, like everyone else on this board. Just harness it in sometimes and you'll be fine. Peace, Chip

I don't want folks getting their hopes up for NYCC. I was never told that Mattel would show anything new there. Word was most likely hasbro will. And even if they do I doubt you will see any new JLU outside of maybe Hawkman or some of the ones that were show last year at Comic Con that have yet to be released. We most likely will not see any new JLU until comic con.
With the 10 or so figures announced last year and the 6 new ones shown at Toy Fair that will take us into Summer.

D. I'm guessing with Mattel only showing three new 3-packs it means the JLU line is on it's last leg. Well, it was great while it lasted.

Before SDCC, or more toward the fall? Also, the stuff shown at SDCC should be mostly 2008 product, correct? If it holds to the same pattern as last SDCC? Peace, Chip

Granted, if nothing new is shown at SDCC, then I'll agree with you. However, recent information from BW shows just the opposite...that they're preparing 2008 product ideas & pitches, with some cool stuff being worked on for later this year as well. I think we'll be surprised in July. Peace, Chip

God I am sick of the negativity. It does not mean it is on it's last legs, it means they showed what is left of the 2007 line, and are working on the 2008 line, which Boy Wonder has told us.
You know, wouldn't it be nice for you guys to be, I dunno, SURPRISED for once? So what if they aren't shown ahead of time, wouldn't it be fun to walk into a store and see something you had no idea was coming out?
Boy Wonder has assured us that this line has legs, he has fought for everything that has been asked for and he has made changes to the line based on the polls. But if I were him I would be asking myself why should I bother with all the whining, complaining, and stuff going on. Seriously some people are acting worse then spoiled children who aren't getting what they want NOW!!! NOW!!! NOW!!!!

Dude, it ain't the fact that not a lot was shown at Toy Fair. It's the lack of concrete information here that's a buggin' us all. The seeds of doubt have been sown. Questions have been asked, are being asked, and answers aren't forthcoming. So, we're all left to discuss it here, openly and honestly.
I, for one, am not bashing Mattel or Boy Wonder. And I don't think that anyone here really is. It's just that we're frustrated. Toy Fair 2007 was by far the worst one I've ever seen, in terms of info and product shown. And that's across the board.
We all love this line, and want to see it thrive and continue for as long as possible. If it looks like JLU is ending to some, then that's what it looks like. A negative outlook. If it looks like business as usual, steady as she goes, then that's what it is. A positive outlook. We just don't know what the heck is going on either way right now.
The wait until SDCC is gonna be a long one...

But we do know, we have been told that they are working on the 2008 line now. We know that, it has been stated, Boy Wonder is asking for more polls. If that isn't information that this thing is continuing I don't know what is.
Boy Wonder doesn't have time to come on here every hour of the day and answer every question, and reassure us of the same thing over and over again. Julius, SD, Otter and everyone else have real jobs, they run this site out of love for toys. To demand answers about something and get more and more angry that those questions aren;t answered right away is ludacris.
I can understand venting but man, its gotten out of hand, its spilling out everywhere. Every thread on JLU or DCSH has turned it people running around screaming the line is ending, how they were cheated they weren't shown more toys, how Boy Wonder needs to come on RIGHT NOW and answer the question "Is the line ending" when it already has been answered.
The line is continuing, The first set of purple 3 packs hasn't even totally hit yet. Pieces of it have leaked out. We'll probably see the first set of puprle pack hitting everywhere this month, Easter will probably see the second set with Star Sapphire and the like, then the Fire/Ice/Miracle sets will hit in August. At SDCC we will probably see 6 new 6 packs, same as usual.
