NXT UK - Episode 1

Travis Banks beats "Screwface" Jamie Ahmed with his Slice of Heaven, a springboard kick (what Cody Rhodes does).

Ahmed is known as this Screwface, and I'd actually capitalize on this by putting him in a mask with a screw graphic on it.

Jordan Devlin then comes out & challenges Banks

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner beat Kenny Williams & Amir Jordan with an interesting power bomb/suplex maneuver.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jinny beats Candy Floss with a Touch of Couture.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moustache Mountain beat Gallus, Wolfgang & Mark Coffey with their clothesline-dragon suplex finisher. Don't know if it has a name already. Maybe The Clipper? A Little off the Top?

Some good moments here, including Bate doing an airplane spin on his opponent, then reversing the direction. Also he does a suplex on one Gallus member while falling back onto the other, sending a "Mama Mia" chant thru the arena.

Joe Coffey tries to interfere, but Pete Dunne is in the house. They all brawl it out to close things.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Episode 2

Toni Storm beats "The Virtuoso" Deonna Purrazzo with the Storm Zero. Rhea Ripley then comes out to show that she's the champ.

Love Storm, just not digging her straight hair.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike Hitchman beats Josh Murrell, as the Wild Boar does a Frog Splash onto Turbo.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joseph Conners promo, taking the NXT/Kassius Ohno script of taking on the "new shiny toys." See what I mean about needing separate writers?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Double DQ as both Dave Mastiff & Eddie Dennis mistakenly hit the ref. Setting up a No-DQ match for Take Over.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Contract signing for the UK title match at Take Over between Dunne & Joe Coffey. Leads to Coffey power bombing Dunne thru the table.

RAW

The show starts off with a brawl in the back with Bobby Lashley & Seth Rollins. They eventually take it past the curtain, on the ramp, off the ramp, etc.

John Cena then comes out after all that, speaks about being at both the Royal Rumble & Wrestle Mania. I'm a little bit surprised with how much he's wrestling lately and that he has future plans for the WWE.

BTW, with his new haircut (need some cover for that bald spot), his neon T-shirt & long cargo jean shorts just seem too juvenile now.

Then Drew McIntyre interrupts him, actually praises him but also telling he's there to take him out. Their exchange gets interrupted by Lio Rush & Lashley, complaining that Rollins is out of control. And on cue, here come Rollins. Then Dean Ambrose, then Finn Balor. This leads to a 6-man tag match. Whew!...

Cena/Rollins/Balor defeat the heel team, with Rollins delivering a stomp to Ambrose. I was surprised how much of the match Cena took part in. Thought Rollins would do a bit more. Only bad thing was Cena's exaggerated "need to make a tag" moments when he was down. A bit much.

So Rollins has his mean streak back, sees HHH conversing with Sasha & Bailey in the back. Confronts him, swipes his cup of coffee out of his hand. HHH gives him his IC shot later that night, making it a falls count anywhere match & welcomes him back.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lumber Jack Match for the tag titles, as Glorious Gable beats The Revival, although Dawson's leg was on the rope. Will see a rematch I'm sure, or will we? I like that they keep losing. Bring Brian Lee in to manage them, while also wrestle.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elias is in the ring, mocks Corbin, naturally gets interrupted prior to a match between the two.

Corbin beats Elias with an End of Days. What???

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Braun is in the ring, calls out Lesnar-- who's in the back with Heyman. They have a bad exchange of words (they're making Braun look really bad). Lesnar decides to go down to the ring, but doesn't enter it. This was pretty much a waste. This match will probably be as bad as the previous one.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apollo Crews & Ember Moon beat Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox, with an Eclipse to Fox.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Moment of Bliss has Ronda Rousey talking up Sasha Banks for some reason. Oh, a possible title shot at the Rumble. But Nia Jax thinks she should get it. So, yep, a match.

Sasha Banks taps out Nia Jax with the Bank statement. This was a terribly slow match. I'm really thinking Banks is just a bad worker. She needs to put in better effort. And Jax? She's horrible on the mic as a heel.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dean Ambrose beats Rollins with a Dirty Deeds and help from Lashley (No DQ).

End of show. Not the best, not the worst.

Smack Down

Hey look, Daniel Bryan starts in the back, actually in the concession area doing his spiel. Comes thru the crowd, to the ring. Have to admit, he's selling this persona better.

Gets attacked by R-Truth prior to their match. A heavyweight champion starting off the show??

DB beats Truth with a running knee. They had a good flow going, surprised they finished as quickly as they did.

Gotta say, R-Truth's Suplex Stunner should be used as a finisher. It's a wasted move to have it done in the middle of a match.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Samoa Joe & Andrade "Cien" Almas beat Rey Mysterio & Mustafa Ali, with a hammerlock DDT on Rey. Couple of things:

1st, they timed the beginning perfectly with the commercial break. Although they were in split-screen, by the time the match was ready to begin after the intros, they were back from commercials. Can't think of a time that's happened.

They should've made this a 3-on-3, adding Jeff Hardy & Randy Orton, but I guess they both had the night off.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They show a graphic of who's in the Royal Rumble thus far for the men. I counted 19.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carmella delivered a good promo. She nailed it. They also had Becky & Charlotte each do one during the broadcast before their Triple Threat Match later that night.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

See Shane & Miz in the back. Miz trying to get more out of Shane

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rusev is in the ring, talking how Shinsuke hurt Lana, but Shinsuke's in the control booth proving it was Rusev who caused her injury. This leads to Rusev on the hunt, but he gets the worse of the exchange.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bar beat The Usos with a Neutralizer on Jey, as Jimmy gets distracted with a toweled Mandy Rose.

The Miz comes out afterwards, challenges The Bar for the titles at the Rumble. He gets a Brogue kick and an acceptance.

Later see Miz & Shane in the back, Shane not liking what Miz did, but came around with what he had to say. Looks like a title change.

Naomi attacks both Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville in the back, but soon gets in over her head until Jimmy Uso stops the counterattack.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Becky beats Carmella & Charlotte with a DisArm Her on Carmella. Then Asuka comes down & the trash talk between the two RR combatants takes place.

Have to say I like Becky's "The Man" T-shirt with the fishnets, as opposed to her ring gear from before. Hope she never goes back to that look.

NXT - Last Week

Johnny Gargano is out in the ring talking about the North American title, prompting Ricochet to come out, then Ciampa to stir the pot, then we get Aleister Black on the screen talking to Ciampa. Lights go out, come back on & Black is there. Fight ensues between he & Ciampa, and he chases him to the back. Gargano takes the opportunity & takes out Ricochet with a superkick.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bianca Belair beats Nikki Cross with the KOD. You knew who was going to win, as Cross has been called up. Not a great match by any means.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel beat two jobbers with their power bomb/German suplex maneuver. Don't know why they're here, as they've been in NXT UK. NXT needs to stop the criss-crossing of talent between both programs.

This was a better match than I expected. The duo had matching attire, which was a bit off putting for me to see Aichner wearing trunks similar to Barthel. His other look was better IMO.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam Cole beats EC3 with a kick to the back of the head, again in a matchup where you knew what the outcome would be due to EC3's call up.

Looked to me that Cole was losing weight, which shouldn't be the direction for him to go. He could use a bit of bulking up actually.

Undisputed Era attack EC3 afterwards, which brought the returning War Raiders to the ring. Perhaps they were off since Rowe married Sarah Logan.

NXT UK - Episode 1 - Last week, prior to TakeOver

Kenny Williams & Amir Jordan win their first match as a tag team, beating "Screw Face" Jamie Ahmed & Dan Moloney, with Jordan delivering a swanton onto Screw Face.

I'd actually like to see two things. First, Williams turning on Jordan due to not taking things seriously.

And second, I'd like to see Screw Face team up with the "Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks. Banks came out in Episode 2 (see later) with a drapery around the bottom portion of his face with a buzzsaw graphic. I'd like to see the same for Ahmed. Their tag team name: Major Tools

I'm being serious.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Isla Dawn beats Xia Brookside with a rollup, then gets "attacked" in the back by Jinny. The quotes are there because it was the weakest attack, with an even worse sell job, I've ever seen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jordan Devlin beats Damien Weir with his Ireland's Call. Then Travis Banks chases him around a bit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zack Gibson & James Drake beat Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews with a Ticket to Mayhem (they're keeping changing it to Ticket to Ride, Ticket to Mayhem. Pick one) to qualify for the finals for the tag title match between them & Moustache Mountain.

NXT Episode 2

Ligero beats Joseph Conners with a springboard DDT. Good match.

Travis Banks beats Tyson T-Bone with his Slice of Heaven. He should be delivering pizza with that finisher name. Devlin comes out.

Gallus beats British Strong Style as "The Iron King" Joe Coffey drops Tyler Bate with a discus lariat.

Onwards to TakeOver.

NXT TakeOver Blackpool

Nigel McGuinness & Vic Rush (I think I got that right) are actually there. BTW, if you have the WWE Network, check out the feature they did on McGuinness, pretty enlightening.

Also, they announced that they opened a Performance Center in the UK. WWE is really expanding.

On to the show...

Zack Gibson & James Drake win the tag team titles over Moustache Mountain with a weak Ticket to Mayhem. These guys were plainly out of gas, a rather long match but still a good one. Drake did have a few miscues, but he made up for it at the end.

I was disappointed with the outcome, as I was hoping MM would be the first tag team title winners. I think this is a misstep by WWE, and I think the crowd agreed. Not taking anything away from Gibson & Drake, as they are two really good competitors, it's just that MM is a crowd favorite, and one of mine as well.

Nice homage to the British Bulldogs from MM with the style of ring gear they wore.

Remember the angle I was talking about Daniel Bryan a couple weeks back, I think Drake would be a good substitute for Mustafa Ali in that scenario.

And as for Gibson, if you see the McGuinness feature, you can see how Gibson patterned his ring moves from what Nigel used to do.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier in the day they show Travis Banks arriving to the hotel. He gets attacked by Jordan Devlin. So before their match officially starts, Devlin attacks him again. Banks can't go, but Johnny Saint & Sid Scala were prepared & had a replacement ready to go.

Finn Balor!!

Finn Balor beats Jordan Devlin with the Coup de Grace. Really good match. Devlin has elevated himself to another level with this. He's ready for a call up. Pair him with Drew McIntyre and get another League of Nations stable going.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They show Luke Menzies in the crowd, don't know who he is, but he'll be joining the brand.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dave Mastiff beats Eddie Dennis with a cannonball in the corner, but thru a table in their entertaining No DQ match. Dennis was really impressive and carried--literally & figuratively--the match.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two women joining the brand, Kay Lee Ray & Jazzy Gabert. Again, have no idea.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Toni Storm beats Rhea Ripley with the Storm Zero for the women's title. This was the second Storm Zero, as they did the usual kicking out of each other's finishers prior to the end.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pete Dunne beats Joe Coffey with his finger bend back submission. This was a REALLY long match, too long. A tad dangerous in spots, as Coffey landed on his back onto the ringside floor from the top turnbuckle. Then fell again, but with Dunne along for the ride.

I think they should've given Coffey the win here. And being named Coffey, I think using & taking Dunne's Bitter End finisher would've been appropriate. A Bitter End to his reign.

But NXT UK brought in Dunne's newest challenger, some big dude named Walter. The crowd loved it, but again, I have no idea who he is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So overall, this PPV had everything one would want. Really good performances, a surprise (Balor) & someone new coming into the brand at the end.

The one thing I think the WWE needs to address though, is the use of the same maneuvers in their matches. You see it on RAW--like how Seth Rollins does everyone else's moves (Balor's slingblade, Roode's blockbuster, etc.), on Smack Down (Orton's RKO vs. Hardy's Twist of Fate for example), and it was extremely prevalent on this card. Drew McIntyre employs his Glasgow Kiss, which is a devastating maneuver (one I wouldn't be surprised if they ban it). Every match on this card someone did it, at least once. It takes away from the specialness of the move when everyone does it.

Relegate certain moves to one performer for each brand.

RAW

Vince arrives to the arena via limo. Then Braun goes to the ring, talks bit & then gets interrupted by Corbin. This results in Braun chasing Corbin to the back, and he learns from Elias that Corbin is hiding in the limo. He breaks the window, and then Vince reappears. Because of his actions, he's fined & taken out of the Royal Rumble match. Corbin exits the limo & Braun lifts it over.

So obviously, the WWE has absolutely no faith in Braun as champ. Other than "Get these Hands," he's not that great on the mic. That was apparent last week with his little exchange with Heyman & Lesnar.

Now, we can blame the writers for not putting him in a better position. But that's Vince too. So he's not seeing what he wants out of him. That heel turn was the worst thing for Braun, he hasn't benefitted from it yet. The WWE really screwed themselves and him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ronda Rousey & Sasha Banks beat Nia Jax & Tamina via a Banks Statement on Tamina. Naturally they had a confrontation between Rousey & Banks, with Ronda stumbling over her words to create such a confrontation.

Sigh...this segment and the whole set up has been horrible. Plus, they've destroyed Nia as well. And Tamina is just an afterthought.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We see Braun being escorted out of the arena. And we also see Jerry "The King" Lawler. Then we see Bayley & Natalya in a discussion about who's at fault between Ronda & Sasha. Nattie is just a bad actor, so the less lines the better IMO.

The Riott Squad get in their face, naturally. God, I'm tired of these three. Send Ruby to Smack Down or something.

Anyway, this leads to a 3-on-3, so Bayley & Nattie need to find a third.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vince goes to the ring, and gets interrupted by John Cena. He wants Braun's slot in the title match, and even trots out the "Ruthless Aggression" line. That worked 20 years ago, mini-JBL. Not now.

This prompts Drew McIntyre to come out. Then Corbin. Then Balor. So this sets up a Fatal 4-Way.

But Vince is intercepted by Jinder Mahal in the back, pleading his case to have been included. He's given a chance to pick one of those competitors, and if he beats him, he takes that guy's place in the 4-Way. He picks Finn.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bayley & Nattie find their partner in Nikki Cross, as they beat the Riott Squad with an elbow onto Liv Morgan.

We see Lacey Evans watching from the back.

And we learn that the new wrestlers are going to compete on both brands. Freakin' dumb.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dean Ambrose is in the back going on about something, I fast forwarded.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bobby Lashley wins the IC title during the Triple Threat Match between he, Ambrose & Rollins. Getting help from Lio Rush with Rollins, The Almighty speared Ambrose for his 1st IC title.

Good for him, he deserves it. Hopefully this ends seeing too much of Rollins vs. Ambrose too. Doubt it, but a guy can hope.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Moment of Bliss takes place between Alexa & Paul Heyman. This is so dumb. They had Otis Dozavic come out (Heavy Machinery), basically trying to hit on Bliss or eat her. Horrible.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We learn that the Women's Tag titles will be up for grabs at Elimination Chamber, pitting 3 teams from RAW and 3 teams from Smack Down.

So ONLY 1 tag champ between both brands. How is this an Evolution?

The only way this could possibly work is that they combine the rosters.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Balor wins the Fatal 4-Way with a Coup de Grace onto Cena, after he got Claymored. Cena then gets on the mic, congratulating him, basically passing the torch.

If Cena does go to 'Mania, I wouldn't doubt it's a 1-on-1 with McIntyre.

I don't want to see that, as I think it would be a bad match. But they're setting things up that way.

Taking the RAW script, Becky drives into the arena. Comes across Heavy Machinery & New Day, who are blending stuff. Becky takes a gulp. I'm sure Dozer is now in love.

She goes to the ring, talks smack. Then Asuka is out. Then the IIconics come out. Becky challenges one of them to a match.

Becky beats Peyton Royce with a DisArm Her in a WAY TOO LONG of a match. Asuka then challenges Billie Kay, for your classic one ups-womanship.

Asuka beats Billie Kay with an Asuka Lock, quickly. Thank god.

Then something odd happens. AJ Styles music hits, and he comes to the ring. So the women, including The Man, just leave. But he doesn't go to the ring, but thru the arena to the concession area.

Way to emasculate Becky WWE. They really don't get it.

So we get to the concession area, where AJ speaks about being with the people, letting them eat & do what they want. This leads to an attack from Daniel Bryan, but Styles gets the better of it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jimmy Uso, while walking with Jey, gets what he thinks is an anniversary gift from Naomi, but it turns out to be a hotel key from Mandy Rose.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Samoa Joe is in the back, heading for the ring to face Mustafa Ali. He passes EC3 while doing so.

No Decision as Joe attacks Ali prior to the bell sounding, throwing him hard into a couple of ring posts and everything else.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rey Mysterio is in the back and he comes across Nikki Cross. He's off to face Andrade, as Almas is going by a singular name now.

A distraction from Zelina Vega leads to a victory for Andrade, as he beats Mysterio with a hammerlock DDT with Rey's legs draped over the top rope. This was a fantastic match.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jimmy goes to the hotel, sees Mandy. Mandy doesn't actually want him, just wants to tick off Naomi. She got her wish, as she's there as well. They fight, but Mandy gets the better of it.

This whole things was so dumb. This is what I would've done:

Instead of Jimmy, have Jey walk into a darkened room. He & Mandy then become a couple. Then over time, say a few months, have Mandy & Naomi win the tag titles at Wrestle Mania.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miz holds a Bestie Birthday Bash for Shane, leads to Shane setting up a match between Miz & Sheamus.

Miz beats Sheamus with a roll up, and in the aftermath, Shane does a Coast-2-Coast into a cake into Sheamus. Too bad Miz had the cake facing the wrong way, would've been a better spot.

BTW, reports are suggesting that the reason we haven't seen Lars Sullivan is that he had some kind of anxiety attack during a dark match at a WWE event. So things may be up in the air for him.

Personally, I kind of hope this is a work and we won't see him until the Royal Rumble, when he interferes in the Lesnar vs. Balor match, setting up a title shot between him & Lesnar for Mania.

NXT - Last Week

Street Profits beat the Metro Bros. as Montez Ford delivers a frog splash onto one of the debuting Brothers, who come out of the Dudley Boyz training academy. They seem to be a farm system for WWE. Not a long enough of a match to really gage how good they may be.

After the match, the Profits were attacked by the Forgotten Sons. Gotta love the crowd, as they chanted "We forgot you." That was funny.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bianca Belair talks about her match with Shayna Baszler, and yep, she with her MMA cohorts come to the ring. Baszler gets slapped for her efforts.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dominik Dijakovic beats Adrian Jauode with his Feast Your Eyes. Not a good match at all.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Johnny Gargano beats Humberto Carrillo with a slingshot DDT. Carrillo could be one to watch in the upcoming years.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kassius Ohno cheats his way to victory over Keith Lee with a low blow, followed by his discus elbow. Matt Riddle comes down to the ring afterwards.

NXT UK - Last week. These were dark matches I assume at Take Over.

Ligero beats Saxon Huxley with a springboard DDT.

Jinny beats Isla Dawn with an X-factor.

Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner beat FMW & Mark Andrews with a Power Bomb / European Upper Cut from the top rope. This team performed fantastically, and the crowd appreciated their efforts.

RAW

Lesnar & Heyman start off the show & come to the ring. Vince comes out, then Braun, then Finn. Vince talks about how Balor is going into the Rumble with a David vs. Goliath type of match, so why not have one with Braun tonight.

So tired of Vince.

Finn Balor beats Braun Strowman via DQ, as Lesnar interfered.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lashley Lio come to the ring and do a pose off with Apollo Crews. They're really trying with Crews.

Bobby Lashley beats Apollo Crews with a spear. Just make Crews an Almighty.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They report that Cena hurt his ankle while working out. Don't know if this is a work, but I don't want to see him against McIntyre anyway.

Speaking of which, Seth Rollins rolls up Mcintyre in their match.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Renee Young is really being lost on the broadcasts. She can't get a word in with Corey Graves and Michael Cole.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Revival are in the back with Vince pleading for another match, with a decent referee. Vince sees Curt Hawkins & makes him the ref for the match. The Revival are pleased and start to work on him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lucha House Party beat Jinder Mahal & the Singhs, as Gran Mettalik delivers a simple back breaker to one of the Singhs. Look for Mahal to break free soon.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Baron Corbin beats Elias with an End of Days, as Elias continues to be booked poorly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Moment of Bliss with Nia Jax, and a bunch of women join her talking about the Rumble. Lacey Evans comes out as well and talks trash to Bliss, who we learn will be back & at the Rumble. Looks like a feud.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heavy Machinery beat The Ascension with a Compactor.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glorious Gable beats The Revival with a roll up, as Hawkins calls a tight match, and by the book. The Revival have an issue with this & attack him, which has Zack Ryder come down to save his friend.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sasha/Bayley beat Rousey/Nattie as Natalya taps out in a Banks Statement.

This feud they're doing with Ronda & Sasha is just over the top.

Smack Down

Becky to the ring, then Asuka & then for some reason Charlotte comes down. Then Asuka unexpectedly attacks Becky from behind but The Man gets the best of that exchange.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mandy Rose beats Naomi with a simple pin after throwing Naomi into the ring post. Naomi delivered some hard shots at the beginning of the match. Once driving Mandy's nose right into the edge of the ring & then a kick to the mouth shortly afterwards.

I'm down on Naomi as of late. I think she's developing a weight/diet issue & that's affecting her performance in the ring. She just looks sluggish.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rey Mysterio talks about the Rumble and the respect Andrade needs to earn with their 2 out of 3 Falls Match later that night. Zelina is banned from ringside, considering what she did last week.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mustafa Ali then has a good promo, where we learn he used to be a police officer. Interesting.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vince has AJ & DB come to the ring, but DB stays outside of it. Still using his old music for being so "new."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Fabulous Truth are in the back, then Carmella has a verbal exchange with Charlotte. Enough with Charlotte already.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Samoa Joe beats Mustafa Ali with a Cochina Clutch. Pretty standard match. That promo really didn't do any good.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mysterio vs. Andrade This match up wasn't anywhere what we got last week. These guys had no energy from the get go. There were some good spots mind you, but this just felt they were going thru the motions.

1st fall, Andrade beats Rey with a power bomb off the top rope.

2nd fall, Rey hits a Sunset Driver.

What was odd during this fall, was that Rey grabbed a water bottle, took a gulp & poured water onto himself. Never saw someone do this during a match. Guess he was dehydrated.

3rd fall, No Decision, as Samoa Joe out of nowhere interferes. Then he showed his math skills by saying he will be 29 other guys at the Rumble.

Then he gets a comeuppance, as Randy Orton delivers an RKO out of nowhere on him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just like on RAW, Corey Graves is dominating the announcer booth, as Byron Saxton is MIA during the broadcast.

We also learn that the Kick-Off Show for the Rumble will be hosted by JBL, "The King" Jerry Lawler, HBK, Beth Phoenix & Booker T. No mention of Coach.

Also, Rusev will be defending the U.S. title against Nakamura, so the fans better get to their seats early.
