Oh I actually am pretty realistic. I know the fan base wasn't nearly as big as most like to think. Please don't lump me in with some of the nuts hahaha.
I just meant that any line that can go that long isn't a fad. I don't care if it's a single store exclusive or not. It was that way for far longer in the line's life than it wasn't.

You have my apology for that... If you're sane enough to ask not to be included then I should be man enough to apologize. texgnome1 wrote: I just meant that any line that can go that long isn't a fad. I really see toy shelf life as dog years... meaning it doesn't necessarily equal the same in our way of counting, for toys I think for every year something is around it's actually more like 5-6 months. So ten would be five by this CRAZY way of counting!

Thanks Van. It is greatly appreciated.
And even at 5 years, it beats out every line except some of the very biggest. Super Powers only ran for three!

But in Super Powers defense the toy business was very different. Regan had just lifted that ban that toys couldn't be advertised for the series in which they were aired. Like what killed the Hot Wheels cartoon, they couldn't air Hot Wheels ads during it. The Super Powers DVDs have some really cool documentaries and information. You want my props for a toy line that's not Star Wars... run as long as Power Rangers. Now that is an achievement! Or how TMNT keeps popping up every so often as various incarnations and Transformers. If you count Beast Wars and Beast Machines we never skipped a beat on Transformers toys. There were longer gaps with GI Joe figures. When you get into performance like that then you get my vote!

To each their own, I'm simply saying that to me, JLU ranks up there with some of the greats. And Power Rangers is just like a New York cockroach. Can't be killed, no matter how hard you try.

So, in all of this doom and gloom, did anybody ever stop to think that maybe the guy writing the Mayan calendar just got old and either decided to retire or died, and nobody else wanted the job?

I still say he ran out of room... but seriously it's the end of one age and the beginning of another. Today the Mayan calendar reached 13.00.00.000.00 or something close to that... 13 with a WHOLE lot of zeroes. But the clock doesn't roll over like an odometer, it keeps on going. Tomorrow will be 13 with a whole lot of zeroes and then 1 beginning a new era. Which will run till 4774 and they say that's where the fun really begins and the odometer does roll over to zero!
