Well, we are a border state . . . so three guesses and the first two don't count.

When I go to this site and hit the "new posts" button and a whole page worth of stuff comes up . . . but half of it is SD's movie countdowns threads. Now this is not meant to be a slam against SD (I'm digging the Iron Man 3 one), but AFI is supposed to be a TOY site, not a MOVIE site. Where the heck did everybody go? Were JLU collectors 90% of the site?

Possibly walking the aisles hoping for a restock-- I expect not to hear much from anyone until Toyfair...

It just seems like site traffic is WAY down the last few months.

I tend to check the JLU, DCUC, MOTUC posts, the custom and screen scene threads. But I check in every day, just don't post that often.

I feel your pain and share your sentiment on this one SH. While I understand that they fit into the genre that we collect, it can be a bit overwhelming if you haven't been to the site in a few days or it isn't really new news. Like you, I have nothing against SD, but this is something I spoke with the staff about in the past. As you pointed out, traffic would light if his post weren't there. I noticed the traffic dying down after the last it went down for a couple of days.

While the message boards have been a bit light since the holidays, traffic for the over all site continues to increase month over month. (the front page is the most viewed page by far on the site.)
Mike's countdowns are great and we really dig them. They will continue as long as he has an interest in doing them.
If you want more chatter on the boards then start posting. I'm here every day and I love to talk toys!
And there will be plenty to talk about starting next month with Toy Fair!

Likewise, I am here every day, just don't always have anything to say. I do post pics in my custom thread as fast as I finish the figures. (shameless plug). CCC.

I'm also starting to wonder if it is time to move on and stop collecting to the degree I used to. I'm just at a different place right now. I've got a 3 and half year old, a stay at home dad and what is out there(at those crazy prices) just isn't grabbing me anymore. Julius, don't take our comments as a slight against you, SDC or the forum in general. While traffic might be heavy in other parts of the site, I don't visit anything much outside of the forum. That is, unless you or CC post something on your FB pages that's on your home page. Like LM said, "I'm here every day, just don't have anything to say.".

If you think about it, the level of traffic on sites like this could be viewed as a measure of how well the toy manufacturers are doing their jobs.

Ebay sellers that put up a BIN or Best offer- with no real intention of a best offer.. Has something up for 47.00 I offered 42.00-(it was rejected automatically) I changed it to 45.00-- seller came back with 46.75 Just get rid of the damn best offer option then-- (expecially since it costs you a quarter just to use the damn option in the first place...)

I have had some luck with the Best Offer option (once got a book for $15 when he wanted $20), but I'm with you on some sellers. If you aren't serious about a Best Offer, don't list it.
Teaching Pet Peeve: Kids who wonder why they're failing when: A) they hasn't passed a test B) rarely do homework C) don't bother to make up stuff they missed during their (often far too many) absences
It's called Cause and Effect, kiddos! Your actions (or in many cases inactions) have consequences!
Sorry, we're closing up the 3rd quarter out here and I've been bombarded with this type of thing.
