It's a new year, post all your crazy Resolutions here for all to judge. Then come back in three months and count how many you've broken!

Well, my resolution was to get back in shape and change my eating lifestyle. I've been doing great so far, lost 20 lbs and eating A LOT healthier. Now my old clothes are fitting me again. I hope to keep it up in 3 months!!

Mine is always to lose weight and tomorrow I'm putting my money where my mouth is. We're having a contest at work over a 16 week period to see who can lose the most weight and I plan on winning.

Be more organized, starting with the toy room.

I'm not quite as Hoarders status, but it's time to empty the bins and get more stuff displayed.

Started the process yesterday by having three new six long shelves put up in there. Now I just have to fill them.

A tangent of that resolution is to do something productive in the house at least once a week. Cleaning, organizing, getting rid of clutter, etc.

Skyrim's making it tough, though.

Well depending on how your work did it-- (the one I won was by percentage-beacause sometimes with pure weight some people wont participate- and depending on the people you are competing with- sometimes you have no chance to win if you are playing with any 350+ people....-)-- Is make sure that the 2-3 days before you go to the all you can eat buffets you can before the official weigh in (the weight will come right off one you go back to normal eating habits, official day of weigh in make sure you wear your heaviest shoes, long sleeve shirt,- depending on how picky your work is-- make sure you have your keys, phone, wallet and loose change in your pockets... Then about 6-8 weeks into the contest make sure to help your colleagues- by bringing in donuts, or home baked cookies for a week or 2...

Even without all those tactics I pretty much had it in the bag- because I didnt drink-- and those participating couldnt give up their weekend beers--

Haha nice tips. I actually put on 10 pounds before the contest started and it is based on percentage. Last time I ran for a week straight I lost 5 pounds and this time I have 16 weeks so I think my chances are good. I don't drink either and if I can give up sodas then I've already got a huge advantage.

I'm actually going to try and keep a blog going on my progress each day and include some pictures. It should be interesting. Today was day 1 and I got a mile in this morning.

I always found it easiest to get a nasty bout of the flu a week or so before final weigh in.

By the time it runs it course and you are back at work you have easily shed 10 pounds without ever getting out of bed.

In terms of my own resolutions...

I haven't really made any. It is fully my intent to find 1 job this year. I'm done working 3 part-times simultaneously. I'm done trying to juggle the paycheck and bills each week. I'm done having to pass up opportunities because I can't "afford" to give up that time from work.

This year, I will start a job that offers growth potential and benefits (mainly insurance and a dr. visit or two). I will find gainful employment in an area that is at least tangentially connected to an area I have a degree in, and I will use it as a catalyst for continued growth throughout the remainder of the year.

I don't care if it is retail, manufacturing, sales, teaching, whatever, so long as it pays enough that I can support myself and my son with a few extra bucks for fun and time a plenty to spend together.

I'll keep you all posted as it happens.

Best of luck with that. We're all pulling for you and hoping for the same thing for you.
