BAM.....Roger Goodell putting the smack down.
Not sure where that smack was a few years ago when the Pats were cheating.

This is much worse than what the Pats did. The Saints were trying to injure people and were getting paid for it by their coach. The Pats were just filming practices.

From a gameplay standpoint, yes. From a winning standpoint, no. The only reason the Pats got such a light tap, is because Goodell knows everyone in the league does it, Bellichek just got caught. Either way, I think the Saints got what they deserved, and probably should've got more.

I should also point out, the Saints were told once before not to do the bounty system and the Saints claimed they did no such thing. And then apparently continued the system.

They also let the whole thing blow up in the face of the NFL.

If we've learned anything from the NCAA and the NFL...they don't really get upset as much (the first time) that you break the rules...but dang it, you better not lie to them about it.

If the allegations are true, I would have banned him from the game for life.
But then again, I'd change a lot of things about the NFL (including less pre-season games, no more off weeks, an 18 game season, and no more crappy 2 week break between the conference final and the Superbowl).

Less preseason - yes - trim it down to 2 and we'll be good No bye week - no - you HAVE to give them a bye week. football is such a physically demanding sport 18 game schedule - no - there's already too many injuries. if they played 18, there wouldn't be any stars to watch 2 week break gone - yes - trim it down to a week. 2 weeks is way too long.

Considering the money they make, I'd like to introduce wild animals into the mix. You know, real lions, bears, tigers, etc. Turn the games into something really worth watching!
