I'm sorry to hear that. Do your best to keep your spirits up and not give in to the negative thoughts. And try to not take it personally - which is very, very difficult - but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Things will work out.

I'm halfway to retirement and see excellent teachers leave the profession every year.

This guy is starting a new job tomorrow with better pay, benefits, insurance, retirement, working conditions, and appreciation. Keep your head up.

Williston, ND will need about 100 new teachers in August because of the oil pipeline. Every small town within 100 miles of Williston will also be hiring.

Seconded. It took me three years and two stints of being unemployed before I found a career that I love! You will find what you're looking for.

i just finished an internship at the office of public defenders not too long ago.

it was fun, i spent most of my time in the office but i also got to go to the county jail and court.

still though, i don't think paralegal is the right career field for me, i've often dreamed about going back to school and getting a degree in biology, hopefully eventually leading to a career in botany.

i know all to well how it feels to be stuck in between career fields.

Time for an update! My wife and have both gotten job offers and we are getting to move to College Station. We even put an offer in on a house yesterday. It was looking bleak for a while but everything has worked out. Thanks for all the encouragement and kind words everyone!

I am still teaching so I'm not out yet! There just weren't a lot of other options right now and my new school is really nice so I can stick with it a few more years.
