I just got a notice from DirecTV that my Center Ice package might be delayed due to "labor relations possibly affecting the start of the 2012-2013 season." Did these people not learn ANYTHING from the last work stoppage? The sport finally got back to form and is very exciting and now it seems like they're going to screw it all up again.

Agreed. 2004 was not all that long ago.
They better get their heads on straight and resolve it quickly.

I'm a huge New York Rangers fan! Really hope that the players and owners can reach an agreement so we don't have any labor stoppage.
When, hopefully not if, they do reach a deal soon, I'll be getting tickets for the Stars/Rangers on January 4. By then we'll see if Rick Nash is the missing piece of the puzzle.

IMO it's not making all that much news. I'm a fan and I wasn't aware of it.
It's been fairly lowkey. Maybe it's a good sign.

I used to be the concession manager for the stadium where the Florida Panthers play (way back in '99. oy.) so I do still have a soft spot for them.
Plus, I live in Rochester, which means I have to adopt all Buffalo sports teams as my own or I get eliminated from the island.
We do have a fairly good AHL team here though (Rochester Amerks) and I do follow them semi-regularly when my work schedule will allow.
I wish I could be more devoted, but I seldom have time to watch a full period, let alone a full game.

I follow sports all the time and haven't heard a thing about this. Has to be good for them. I do enjoy hockey but I barely have time to watch the sports I really enjoy so hockey hardly ever makes the cut. It might be the best looking sport on an HDTV though.

They were, then they weren't for a season or so, and now they are again.
Its great when I can catch an Amerks game and then the next night or two I can watch the same players called up to the Sabres and go back again fairly seamlessly.

I'm a huge Pens fan since I was young!
I haven;t heard anything about a labor relations dispute. If that is true the NHL is killing themselves with a small fan base compared to other sports. Football, Baseball, Basketball in the states can get away with this. Hockey not so much.

I am a huge Anaheim Ducks fan. I will be very sad if there is another lock out. I want to see Teemu Selanne play one more year and it would be sad if a CBA would get in the way of that.

Still no news. The rumor from my dad in Buffalo is the first half of the season is in jeopardy.
