Well, here it is in all its glory :D . A big thanks to Chip's Blog, Mike's Hall of Justice and Toy Otter's Archive. Without them, this list would of been near impossible to create. Each of these sites are an invaluable source of information for all things Super Powers. I compiled this checklist based on pictures of known examples card backs. Please look it over and provide input. If there is misleading or false information or any errors and/or omissions let me know. I've inserted a few comments but would love to have those of you that are far more knowledgable on the Super Powers line provide comments as well. I'd like to see this take on a life of its own and become a valuable tool to Super Powers collectors. Let me know what you think.

awesome! this is just the kind of thing I have been looking for. one thing though: for the figures that we know to have been produced but haven't yet shown up on the secondary collectors market, maybe we could put those in red text or something? Im thinking about, for instance, the non-penguin NIBO stuff. or maybe a separate category for figures that were produced but haven't surfaced in the collectors market. just an idea. good work!

Thanks for your input. On your suggestion, which i really like...... I have no knowledge of what was actually produced and of those, what has been actually found. That's where we can all play a part in this.

Are you saying that all the NIBO stuff was produced or are we just not sure yet because no known examples have shown up but Penguin so far? I'll edit the NIBO list to reflect this. See what you think.

I can help. It's New Year's Eve and I haven't started my wine drinking yet, but when I do...you can be sure I'll reply. :)

Some quick points :

1. Nibo - only Penguin has been found MOC

2. Lili Ledy - only Wonder Woman has been found MOC, and the sketchy info is that the company stopped production before all of the first 12 characters were produced.

3. There's one character left off your list of Super Amigos, but you'll have to wait until one of my blogs next week to include it. ;)

4. Shazam is more difficult to find than Cyborg as far as the US card is concerned. Even Golden Pharaoh might be more difficult. Mr. Miracle is not that hard to find.

There's more, and I'll post it later. :D

Peace,

Chip

Fire Marshal Bill, thanks for the compliments on my site and I'm glad it's been a useful resource to you. In the past I've been hesitant to publicly release this until 100% complete, however based on a few collectors like yourself seeking out data of this nature over the past few years, I decided to publish my "Kenner and Kenner Canada Carded Figure Matrix" as a special feature on my website. This matrix contains 8 years worth of personal documentation effort. Endeavors like this are very much a constant work in progress, so I definitely plan to continue attempting to document missing items and update accordingly. I've used a matrix format to share the data, so it differs a bit from the checklist approach you are taking, but I think you and other SP collectors will find it useful. I definitely see some advantages to the checklist approach in terms of being able to add additional info, which the matrix format isn't able to accomodate, but I felt the matrix format allowed for a large amount of data to be shared in a relatively small space. I have an international matrix as well, but it has not been published. At any rate, hopefully you'll find the Kenner and Kenner Canada data useful. Here's a link to the feature:

Chip, thanks for the info so far. I've made the changes to the checklist. I look forward to your upcoming blog :D .

Mike, the matrix rocks! I feel humbled.... your research over 8 years and my little checklist that hasn't even take 8 hours so far LOL. Hopefully my list can satisfy a niche nevertheless. As you noted, these things are a constant work in progress and i hope to be able to document and improve the information on the checklist. I hope to be able to continually add to the comments based on Super Powers fan input.

Hey, how cool is this........ if my checklist never serves another purpose at least it got Mike to make his first post on AFI  . And possibly inspired him to go ahead and introduce his awesome matrix to the public on his website. Welcome Mike, we hope you stick around here for a while.

Oh yes, he difinitely need to share more :D .

Ok, i added a list for Canada. Mike added some stuff to his archive on the Canadian releases today too it looks like. Thanks Mike. One question on Kenner Canada.... did they release the same vehicles/playsets in the same order as the U.S.?

Enough for now.... gotta go ring in the new year. Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks very much for the warm welcome and matrix compliments, Chip and Fire Marshal Bill! As for the Kenner Canada vehicles/playsets, I have all of them marked as being released with the exception of the Batmobile and Justice Jogger. I suspect Kenner Canada did release the Batmobile since it's such a high profile vehicle, so it's possibly something that I've simply missed.

Mike, I think you should work on a foreign one as well.

Do you have notes on the foreign releases?

Peace,

Chip

Hi Chip,

Yes, I do have an international matrix. The "International Figure" section of my website is derived from the international matrix. I'll likely publish the international matrix in the January site update since it will compliment the Kenner/Kenner Canada matrix nicely. I also have a matrix for vehicles/playsets from all countries/companies.

On the prototype front, I've been increasing the amount of proof cards on my website periodically, so I suspect at some point this year I'll use my existing proof card data to generate a Super Powers Proof Card matrix too, but that will take some time and isn't likely to be published as soon as the other matrices discussed above. I have some additional SP website projects I want to focus my efforts/time on before delving into the proof card matrix.

Hi Chip, after reading your latest blog on Estrela today, i made some changes to the checklist above. One question, you mention two cardbacks, a 10-back and 15-back. Looking at Mike's site at the examples of Estrela Darkseid and Plastic Man wouldn't the second cardback issued be a 17-back... even though they may never have released Green Lantern and Lex Luthor, they are pictured? Looking forward to your input, and any other suggestions you may have to improve the checklist.
