lol, I wrote to the guy yesterday and asked if he would stop the auction and sell it to me for $20. He wrote back and said no, sorry but he wanted to let it run out. Good thing, since I got it for $16 and change instead of $20!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT

Nice find! I loved how nearly every 70's and 80's toy franchise featured a metal trash can to go with it. I wonder if people collect these much as they do old lunchboxes?

Yeah, I've seen a ton of em. I'm just happy I found a Q Bert one ion new condition. Now I need the TV tray!! I plan on one day having a complete Q Bert collection, anything they ever made, but it's going to take loot (especially since I collect so many other lines). The Q Bert watch goes for about $300 in box...

TV trays! There's something else that was pretty huge in the 80's. I had two of them at one point. You can see a Disneyland one hanging from the wall behind the fridge. This was taken around 1982 or so. There's also a plastic Disney mug from the late 70's on the counter. They had covers shaped like a cowboy hat or (as in the pic) a fireman's helmet with a hole to place a drinking straw in. I loved those as a kid. The two character magnets on the fridge door are a puffy vinyl Sylvester Jr. that my cousin didn't want and a rubber Pink Panther which I found inside one of those old vending machine eggs. Dang, I miss that apartment of ours now... Anyhow, good luck with any outstanding Q Bert items.

Ha! Yeah, I'm betting a lot of us thirtysomethings had one of those mugs. They came shrink wrapped instead of boxed or carded and the handle kind of looked like Mickey's ears. On a lark, I once tried checking eBay for availability but came up empty. I'm gonna give it another try and see if I can find the name of the manufacturer.
