A few months ago I was inspired by my kids to get some action figures in the house to share my childhood passion for Super Heroes with them. I really wanted to put the Super Powers figures I had as a kid in their hands to teach them about the differnet characters and fuel their interest.
My first call was to my Dad (not local) to have him check the attic. Nothing there so I went ebay shopping for some figures and vehicles.
The kids love it all!
Fast forward a bit and I receive a call from my Dad while he was really cleaning out the attic. They found my original Batmobile. I have no idea what condition its in from being stored where it was, but I am thinking overall its at least ok for a play piece.
It all got me thinking....how much of the Super Powers and the other great toys from my youth are stashed away in storage where people don't A)know they are even there and/or B) have any idea what the stuff in those boxes is worth and how many of us would love to get our hands on it.
Same can be said for anything rare, vintage or collectable but having never been one to really collect or hang on to much of anything I don't need or use any more it really made me think.

Unfortunately, with all the times I moved growing up and as an adult, if it isn't tucked away with all the other toys I have right now, it has been long since lost or sold off.

I keep hoping that someday I will awaken to find a "lost" or "hidden" treasure from my youth, but the reality is, they are all in the hands of other people or the local dump at this point.

I found a Lone Ranger figure (from the LEGEND OF THE LONE RANGER line) buried in the backyard of my grandmother's house while we were getting it ready to sell after she passed away.

I was suddenly flooded with memories of playing in that yard in the summer. Great memories.

I was pretty damned ecstatic even though it isn't in the best of shape (I mean, it's been burried since the 80's) but I have it proudly displayed.

Haha...that's cool. I remember the Lone Ranger stuff....I had some sort of figures. I can't recall what or if it was something made in the 80s or even older I got as a hand me down from older cousins.
