My grandmother's favorite brand. Had tons of those as a kid, still run across them once in a while when digging through old stuff.

Yes. After you got done cleaning the Popsicle off of it, they would interlock, sort of like an erector set. I still have some in the storage unit. When I find them I will post pics. I was kind of wondering if anyone knew if these were still being used anywhere?

I had hundreds of these things. They're Elsie Sticks. I had a big family, and we went through a lot of Elsie Bars. I used the sticks for all kinds of stuff, houses and structures and things for my Megos.
I also used to fasten them together with paper brads (kind of a thumbtack with two metal prongs, that you put through a hole in notebook paper and bent the prongs open to hold the papers together). I would break the Elsie Sticks into smaller pieces, and build two-dimensional superhero stick figures and lay on the floor and move the figures around like a comic book. I'd add a paper helmet, hammer, and cape for Thor, or a shield for Cap, or paper capes for Batman and Superman. Big long arms for Mr. Fantastic or Plastic Man. You get the point.

I'd love to see those if you could dig any up or perhaps re-create one or two...

The originals are long gone. It's funny, but as I was posting, I was wondering how tough it would be to recreate some.

Not that hard. Just need one, a flat tray, RTV mold maker, and some resin mix. Just need the cash to pay for it all. Maybe later this summer.

Wow, remember those. I did not know that they could be connected to build things. As a kid though, only cared about the ice cream .

It's funny... I moved into my grandmother's place a couple years after she died and there have been some heavy rains around here lately. Sometime in the last couple of weeks one of those rains unearthed the remains of a couple of those sticks at the base of a small bush near the back door.
