What are your thoughts on this? Good, bad, meh? Real, fake? Any sort of value estimate? I know very little about vintage Star Wars, so any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, guys!

What's your question specifically? You wanting to know if its fake? It's certainly possible. People are getting really good at reproducing the packaging these days to re-card figures. To really analyze and determine if its legit, an expert would probably have to see hi-res photos or see it in person. I guess it also depends on where you got it and how reliable that source is.

Yeah I thought the Free Bobba Fett was a promotion Kenner never went through with?

The rocket firing version never happened (that's why there's a sticker over that part of the card), but they did ship a free figure for the 4/5 POPs required. The Boba Fett that was shipped was the same as the one that ended up carded on the pegs a year or so later. It also included a note saying that the rocket firing feature had been dropped for safety reasons and customers were free to send it back for a replacement of any figure that they wanted.

No kidding. So if I'm correct... every mail-in I remember as a kid was eventually released. Admiral Akkbar The Emperor Anakin Skywalker All I those I sent away for but remember seeing them on pegs eventually.

There were also mail-ins for 4-LOM, the survival kit and the display arena. The figures all ended up on cards, but Anakin and the Emperor are much rarer carded than with the mailer box. The survival kit (or some variation of it) ended up in some of the vehicle and playset boxes. Don't think anything else was ever done with the display arena.

I guess I'm mostly interested in knowing if this figure on this cardback is a 'good' find. I picked it up pretty cheap because I thought it looked cool - I've never been into vintage Star Wars, but I do really like how the packaging looks. Thanks, guys

Other than the sticker it looks like it's in really good condition. It's a 20 back... I'd say "yes" but the guys at Rebelscum or SWCA would know a lot more than I would about such things...

I remember the Survival Gear myself. And I know some of it came in my Dagoba playset too.
