Okay old skool Joe collectors, where are you? The DTC and Sigma 6 stuff is fun, but nothing beats the old big-headed GIJoes we all got for birthdays, Xmas, took to school and played with outside until dusk. Lets reminisce about Joes!

Are we talking Real American Hero?
If so I'm down.
I've got a TON of these little buggers loose and complete, I'm missing about 30 between the years 82 and 91. Some of the ones I'm missing aren't even really rare or expensive I just haven't gotten around to getting them yet.
My favorites change all the time but right now it's the 1990 Sky Patrol.

Oh yeah. Here's my little story. I had a paper route as young as I can remember. Only made about 10 or so bucks a week. But every week I'd go to my local Child's World in Wayne, NJ and buy 3 GI Joes. Good times.
One day I was home sick and my mom came home with Spirit, Mutt & Junkyard, and Rip Cord. Vivid memory. Haha.
I got a special cabinet for my vintage GI Joes. All well played with, but still look good lined up in formation.

I told my story about getting the Flagg for Christmas and how my dad always got me all the Joe stuff on Christmas every year here: http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/phpB ... php?t=5281Anyway, my last Joe Christmas was 1990, Summer of 91 my parents split up and I didn;t really want to play with toys anymore. But up until then I got everything, and allot of time multiples of some things. I had a whole world set up in our toy room, which used to be a 3 car garage my dad turnedinto a play room when he built his garage. It was huge, and while I was supposed to share it with my sister, she never left my moms side, so it was pretty much all mine. My dad helped me set it up great, we even had a shoe box full of dirt that was the Joe "graveyard". When I moved out of my moms house I took some of my toys with me, my wrestlers, Transformers, Thundercats and He Man toys are in my attic, I gave my som all the Super Powers to go with his JLU toys. But my Joes? My dad built a big house in the middle of nowhere when he got remarried and as he did at our house, he built a huge garage to build hot rods. The upstairs is huge and spans that whole garage, its just a big open area. So one day I went there with my wife and we took all my Joe stuff. Set it up in the room, used fishing line to hang some planes in a dogfight, all the jazz. He loved it. When my son goes there he has started to play with some of the stuff and my dad says its like going back in time and watching me.

I just remembered who my first GI Joe was (Rock n Roll) and where I got him (Bradlees on Rt23 in Wayne, NJ.) This was when they first came out. Still have that figure. Still can't hold his heavy machine gun well since he's a pre-swivel-above-the-elbow Joe.

Got any pics?

This is my vintage Joe cabinet. I was able to recover from Mom's attic about 70 figures and a decent amount of their accessories. Vehichles I have in a big box. I think my favorite vehicle/figure pack in was Deep Six and Shark. Quick-Kick, Gung-Ho, Roadblock, SnowJob, Shipwreck, Jinx, were some of my favorites.

Got any pics? Not here, but I can try and take some when I go up there for Christmas Eve. Somewhere around here I have a picture my dad gave my wife of me with the Shuttle Complex when I first got it. I'll post it if I can find it

One of the Joe-related stuff that I treasured as a kid were those catalogs that came with vehicles and playsets. I loved seeing all the figures, vehicles and playsets together like that... knowing very well I personally couldn't own each and every one of them. I had dreams about those toys!

I had the first set, it was the last toy line I bought before I realized I was getting too old for toys. Really enjoyed the Marvel comic at the time as well, great stuff!
Pretty sure I had the first wave and the mail away Cobra commander. I wish I'd kept them.
