I think it's all relative to when you grew up personally, although I'd have to say that 80's kids did have it very good.

The best decade for toys is a split. I'd say it's actually 1975-1985.

80's were good up until about 86 and then action figures kind of dried up until about 92(type 1988 into ebay in the action figure category and see what comes up) when action figure collecting and the idea of keeping toys in the package on purpose really started.

It seems to have really calmed down over the last couple of years though, there are still collectors, but the speculators have mostly gone away.

I wholeheartedly agree but put it more to like 74-86 as a real golden era. That way you don't exclude such lines as Gabriel Lone Ranger, Matchbox M.A.C , Thundercats and M.A.S.K.

I used to stock the toy department of a Woolco in the mid eighties, loved looking at the new figures when they came in.

well there are obviously plenty of good toylines(and continuations of toylines)on either side of 75-85, but it is where all the gold is:

WGSH. Star Wars. GIJOE. Transformers. MOTU. Super Powers.

This was a tough poll to reply to. Each decade had it's plusses, but I selected the 60's because GI Joe and Captain Action started the whole shebang that we waste time and money on - ACTION FIGURES!

Maybe we would have seen the stuff eventually, but if not for the 60's the best we would be playing with would be Marx "little men."

It also includes the final waves of Super Powers and Star Wars POTF.

I went with Eighties because that was the Era I was most aware of Toys. I was Five at the begining, and 15 at the end.

The 80s were great if you were into action figures. Not only could you get figures, playset AND vehicles, but back in the day, Sears and JCPenney made thier own generic vehicles and playsets you could use with your "brand name" figures!
