I had a bunch of these... and I may still have a few of them in my folks attic. (Will have to check next time I'm back home)... This would have been back in the Mego days. They were comic book sized catalogs for all things Superhero stuff. I think I bought them from the spinner rack of comics at the grocery store. They may have been monthly, they may have been quarterly... I don't remember. but they had just about every toy related to superheroes that was out at the time.
The one thing in the catalog that I always wanted was "The Mangeler" it was some sort of green tank-like vehicle with an open mouth on the front. it would "eat" the 3 3/4" scale superhero figures and then spit out a flattened version of the figure.
What was that catalog called?

That was the Heroes World catalog. I loved those things, always bought one when it was on the stands (or would occassionally order one from the comics) but I don't think I ever placed an order from them otherwise. I remember that being where I learned of the existance of the Supervator, the Mangler, the Teen Titans and just tons of Mego stuff that never hit the discounters in the backwardness of Kentucky...
Megomuseum has some scans from those catalogs.

Those heroes world cats bring back a lot of happy memories. Whenever I found one as a kid (usually at a used bookstore) I would spend days pouring over them looking at all the stuff I never saw at retail.
They were also invaluable for me when i started out collecting.

I never remembered what they were until I saw the scans over at MM. I used to pleeple off my parents by shoving it in their face and saying, "Here's what I want for Christmas. All of it." Peace, Chip
