BBTS just emailed me saying that Wave 4 has been cancelled and will not be produced by DST.

Wave 4 included:
Dr. Teeth & Zoot
Sam the Eagle & Rizzo
The Swedish Chef

Man what a letdown. I hate that we'll never have a completed band with its leader Dr. Teeth. DST should have at least offered this wave before cancelling the line all together. :(

Between the cancellation of this line and the likely end of DCC's Batman Animated Series lines, 2018 isn't starting off too well for toy lines I collect. :(

Dammit. What a disappointment.

Lines getting axed right and left. Are we seeing a shift in the industry? Have we passed saturation?

Bummer. But it's not like I could still afford the line anyways.

Picked up the "regular" version of Statler and Waldorf from Big Bad Toy Store. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't have these guys' balcony.

Interesting. The Deluxe action figures are MUCH easier to open the boxes of than the Toys R Us kind. The boxes are bigger so they use bigger twist ties that are easier to untangled. I assumed because the package was more elaborate, they would be even harder to open. It turns out BECAUSE the package is elaborate, it's easier.

I guess you get what you pay for.

Well this is surprising. BBTS just solicited a preorder for the Swedish Chef by himself. I wonder if there's any hope of still getting Dr. Teeth and Zoot later on to complete the band. I can probably live without Sam the Eagle and Rizzo though.

I wonder how the Swedish Chef will be packaged since they normally have giant clamshells with 3 or more figures and a bunch of accessories in them together. Will he come in a special smaller sized packaging just for him and his table/cookware? Hmmm....
