Man, between Minimate news and the rest of my life... I can't keep up.
Okay, so a new code for wave 30 went up yesterday, and was broken PDQ. Yesterday's reveal: House of M Spider-Man. Meh. Except that it probably means a new Spidey villain, as was confirmed with today's code... Scorpion!
And AA posted pictures of the next wave of TRU 'mates (man, they are back there in a BIG way), which is kind of a hodge podge of recently released and upcoming 'mates, and a new exclusive: Moonstone and Bullseye! Check it out:

I'm stoked for Black Panther. It's cool that you can make either the modern or the classic version. WIN-WIN!!
MOONKNIGHT!!!! I have yet to aquire a classic Moonknight figure of any sort (stupid ML modern version) so I am excited for this as well.
I"m "meh" on the rest. Don't care about armored DD, Xforce Wolverine or Jim Lee Storm. The Hydra goons would be cool but I"m not about to drop the cash for multiples and get stuck with the Wolverines in the process. They really need to consider pushing army builder multipacks. Hell, I'd buy at least 2 sets of 4 of AIM and Hydra goons.
Nice TRU sets as well. Not familiar with Moonstone in that costume but am interested in the IM/WM pack for sure.
Now if only DC would get back into MM.......

So far, all I have seen of the TRU Exclusives are Wonder Man and Union Jack. I hope the Bullseye and Moonstone set doesn't prove to be too hard to track down. I will get the Web Armor Spider-Man and Scorpion Venom as well; I never did get a Web Armor Spidey from AFX.
I can't wait to see Scorpion!

I'm glad Moon Knight and Black Panther are finally making my minimate avengers display. And Hercules and Black Widow too from the Champions box set will look nice in the Avengers shelf as well.
I'm still hoping that DST can start doing DC sets. I know there isn't any news its just that since there are so many awesome Marvel sets coming I'd love for my DC minimate collection to expand.

Okay, so it's definitely a new Spidey wave: we're also looking at Spider-Girl (yay!) Electro (yay again!) and the Vault Guardsman as the army builder (huh!). I have a hunch we're going to see some of the new Brand New Day characters like Anti-Venom and Jackpot, hopefully packaged together so I can skip them both in one easy motion . Honestly, Jackpot is one of my least favorite characters EVER. She exists only to make you think she's someone else, and honestly can only be that person to make any sense, so of course she can't be that person. Lame.
I do hope that the good (ahem) people at DC Direct see all the cool stuff DST/AA is doing with Marvel Minimates right now and decide to get back on board. They'd be fools (ahem) not to. Sorry, something must be in my throat....

Hellpop I totally agree with your last statement. There are so many DC Characters I would love to see. Shoot if DST can just distribute them i'd be happy. I mean they can do 4 mate boxed sets or something just to expand the roster a little. I still would love more Titans, JLA, JSA and Green Lantern Corps characters to get the minimate treatment.
Back to the topic at hand I'm glad that they are expanding the Spidey villain universe. With Scorpion and Electro being a longtime coming.

...aaaaaaand we've got designs for wave 30, over at Minimate Headquarters:
http://www.minimateheadquarters.com/?p=351
Electro, Scorpion, and Spider-Girl are all terrific figures, and I can't wait to get them. Not thrilled about Guardsman and Electo-proof Spidey, but they are pretty cool looking, so I don't mind buying them. The only real loser of the bunch is House of M Spidey (plus the variant, but she's not even on my radar). So, all in all, not a bad wave. The only other Spidey characters left that I want are the Lizard and Vulture. That would make for a fine two pack!

Scorpion, Electro and the Guardsmen are the only ones I really want. I wonder if TRU will carry these and in what configuration, if they do. I will have to get the whole wave just to get all the figures I want, if I go the specialty store route

Well, one of the great things about Minimates is even the least artistic among us can make decent customs pretty easy. I've no skill at all, and I've made over 2 dozen DC customs alone (I do a lot more DC customs then Marvel, because I like DC better, and I can be pretty sure they won't become obsolete). I'm not talking the likes of Firestorm, but guys like Captain Atom and the Question are all pretty easy to make, and it's really fun. There's no better feeling as a collector, I think, then getting a sudden inspiration for a custom and throwing it together. Anyway, my point is that adding on to your collection is not impossible (and yeah, I do plan to snap photos of my customs eventually!).

I've wondered that myself. This new wave they've announced, with the rearranging of several packs, kind of changes the game plan. So far, all the figures have been released to TRU first (sucks for the LCBS), so hopefully we won't be surprised by a more desirable pairing after the fact. Considering that the last Spidey wave went to TRU in its entirety (save for the variant), I wouldn't be surprised if they all end up there. Personally, I'd really like to see Spider-Girl and the Scorpion packaged together, so that I can avoid HOM Spidey, but I doubt that will happen.
Man, I think about Minimates a lot...

Nice wave. At least the Spidey's are different so it makes it easier to get them. Been wanting Scorpion and Electro for a long time. I may now need to break down and get the Kraven and Shocker and Venom now. I wish we could get a Doc Ock and Rhino "redo" like we did with Green Goblin.
Speaking of making your own customs, I've been debating on getting one of those Ultimate Hulks and adding parts (chest, platform feet, crotch)to my old Rhino to make a bigger Rhino. Might not be great, but it might do until a new one is released.

Marvel Wave 25 is out. BBTS just added them to my Pile of Loot
Now, do I ship, or wait and see if Mattel actually releases the DCUC Superman/Brainiac Set this month? (Understand that a classic Brainiac has been high on my list of DC Figure Wants for years!)

How can you wait on Minimates?
I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but one of the things on my long term customizing plate (I'll need to learn how to design decals for it to happen) is a Silver Age Brainiac, using parts from the first Green Goblin and (no lie) Star Sapphire. Did you ever notice that Brainiac and Sapphire are wearing almost the same costume? It's a little weird....
Grouch-- that's not a bad idea about Rhino and Ult. Hulk. Looking at the picture of the Hulk, I think the chest, hands and feet will work pretty well. And, since I don't really want that figure, it'll be a nice bonus.

Even more news coming. Damn. When DST said that it was the year of the Minimate, they weren't kidding! I'm just going to point you all to Minimate Headquarters for pics:
http://www.minimateheadquarters.com/
So we have photos (finally) of the Dark Avengers, and a mystery Dark Avengers box set containing the characters everyone bitched about not getting in the first box set. New Hawkeye (nice), new Sentry (which makes me not feel bad at all about tearing the old one up for customs, and really glad I didn't replace him), classic-style Ms. Marvel (looks kinda weird, frankly) and (the best figure of either DA set) Ares! He looks awesome, could be the figure of the year.
It's funny, but this new box set has killed any enthusiasm I had for the first one. Though Wolverine looks nice as an update on the brown costume; should be easy to create a perfect brown Wolvie from the two. Iron Patriot and Marvel Boy are just okay, and Spider-Man is just flat out weak. Has this set become a pass?
Oh, I meant to post this yesterday: scroll down past the DA news to see photos of th 29 and 30 prototypes. Electro steals the show, Hydra goon looks better then I expected, and Black Panther will look much better without all that junk on him.

HOly crap Hellpop!! I can't keep up. I finally got my Defenders set.
I'm glad they are doing boxed sets of Teams. I'm hoping for another Defenders set with Nighthawk and of course need an original new warriors box set.
