Firstly, I haven't done extensive investigation into the matter, so be gentle with me.

That being said, for valentines day, my wife got me the Marvel Select Venom figure. Its amazing, I love it. But I'm looking around and I keep seeing people mention a version of the figure that comes with a stand, and 4 heads, (mine only came with three). And being referenced as Diamond Select.

Did I miss something?

Additionally, I'm having problems with one of the arm peg joints not rotating. I've tried a little WD-40 on the joint to no avail, as well as the warm water soak. Hesitant to try the freeze method.

Any help welcome!

There are usually (at least) two versions of Marvel Select and Diamond Select figures produced. One version is meant for mass retail stores like TRU and F.Y.E. the other version is sold through comic shops and online stores like EE and BBTS and those will tend to have the extra accessories or a fancy stand with them. For the Marvel stuff there are also some figures with a variant version and since the Disney buy-out they'll make versions that are exclusive to The Disney Store.

Makes sense, thanks man.

Do you know off the top of your head of any sites that might sell loose pieces, like the stand and/or extra head?

eBay would be my best guess for that...

To clarify a little more... All of the figures are produced and distributed by Diamond. The Marvel figures under the Marvel Select name (I know at one time they were designed by Toy Biz for Diamond, they may still be doing that with the remnants of what is left of Toy Biz/Marvel Toys) and everything else (Universal Monsters, The Munsters, Star Trek and whatever else there may be) goes under Diamond Select.

To further clarify, all of those toys are made by Diamond Select Toys: Marvel Select, Universal Select, Star Trek Select, etc.

IF a figure is not in the larger Select packaging, like at TRU, then they may not be called "Select" versions (just Star Trek, Universal Monsters, etc.), but they are still made by Diamond Select Toys. (Athough there is no non-Select version of the Marvel Select line.)

Diamond Select Toys is distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors, who also distributes DC Collectibles, NECA, Mezco, etc.

Hope that helps.
