I'm sure this is covered somewhere but I couldn't find it. I just got my first iPhone and when I brought up AFi on safari a little message popped up about an AFi app. What app is this? Is it specifically for AFi or is it a general forum app like tapatalk? Also, if it is a general app like tapatalk, is it worth buying?
Thanks!

It's a general app that allows you to view the site. It's currently the only way to view the site over anything besides wireless for some reason. We have a whole thread about it (the iphone not working thread).

The app we're set up for is by ForumRunner.com.
They used to have a free version but now only the paid version is available.

Is there any way to stop the incessant popup that appears at EVERY SINGLE CLICK when I'm using my iPhone? I don't want forum runner.

Short answer Bryan, no. I have this pop up on a few forum and I just hit cancel or no and move on.

Thanks for the answer, Donster. I tried ForumRunner back when it was free and it didn't work. I'm not willing to pay for something that's half-baked, and I'm perfectly happy using Safari, except for the stupid pop-up demanding that I download the app. Once would be fine, but I'm not going to click off it every single time I click on a post or move through a string. I clicked through it about 30 times in 10 minutes. I kept thinking this will be the last one, but no. I just won't visit AFI on my iPhone. The entire rest of the Internet is available.

I get where you are coming from. Trust me, you aren't alone in your frustration. Still, the pop up only comes up for me when I'm entering the forum, not throughout. Like I said, I've got a couple of forums that have a app. I hit the decline/cancel button and that's that until I need to revisit the forum the next time. I'm on the 3GS iPhone, not sure what version yours is though? So I'm not sure why you'd be having a different experience?

That would be super annoying! I'm using a 4S. I only get that pop up upon entering the AFI forums, and not again unless I leave the site and font come back for an extended period of time. Are you stating that you get it upon navigating from forum to forum, and after posting?

Yes. Every. Single. Click. Inside the forum. Go to login. Popup. Fill out information. Click login. Popup. Go to index. Popup. Click Mattel-All. Popup. Click Imaginext Discussion Thread p. 95. Popup. Click Previous. Popup. And so on.
You get the point. And you can see my frustration. The site is unusable on my iPhone. I'm using a 4, by the way, with the latest OS.

I'm not doubting you, but I just double checked my phone and I'm not experiencing those issues So I'm going to leave it to Vader or someone else to walk you through on how to fix it. The only thing I can think of is to go to your settings and see what they Safari settings are? Maybe clear your history, cookies and data. In looking at this on my own, do you have your block up pop ups on? Mine are. I can definitely understand your frustrations.
