For the last couple months as we wait for the traffic light of come online we've had a 4 way stop in our neighborhood that consists of 18 lanes! This way loads of fun. But what's really a blast are the new round-abouts. Too cheap to put in full-fledged clover-leaf on/off ramps, AZ has been experimenting with other options. I thought of you this past weekend out here east of Seattle, Ryan, when every single intersection in the area became a four-way stop during our several days without power following a massive storm (some areas still have no power). You'd drive a block, and then, the same scary dance of hesitant passive-aggressive Seattle driving would begin again: "Okay, sir, now you go." "What? You were in the intersection first, but okay, I'll jus..." "THAT'S IT I'M FREAKING GOING!!!" "HOLY CRAP!" SCREECH "Oh, sorry, were you going to go? Be my guest..." "Guh... huh... oooohkay, thanks, I'll..." "WATCH OUT YOU CRAZY boogledong!!!!" SCREEEECH (repeat every block for miles) Photo by " vespaspank"

That USS Flagg post brought tears to my eyes. Aww... that was an awesome post. I remember bugging my parents the year before for something simpler.... a GI Joe Sci Fi figure. I just thought he looked cool. I bet my parents didn't even know who he was or what he looked like yet on Christmas day, he was there.

Ryan,
Sorry to hear about your situation, man. As someone who's been experiencing an "economic downturn" (i.e. unemployment in my case) of my own for the past almost two years I can relate.
Hang in there! Hope things turn around sooner rather than later!
Jeff

hey thanks man, the situation is too complicated to explain in the blog but in the big picture it's not the end of the world, compared to what other life-altering crisis situations others have to deal with every day. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it!

Sorry to hear that, man. There've been times I couldn't go out and collect the figures cause of short income, so I know how it feels. Hope things start looking up soon. John

Just read your most recent blog. Sorry to hear about the changed circumstances. Its cool that you're trying to see the silver lining.
The restricted toy budget did make me chuckle to myself. In order to maintain a peaceful household I've been working with a $40 a month toy budget for years. I understand needing to be selective! (This is why I broogle and moan about 3 packs with one new character, amongst other things...)
But my budget was something I agreed to, not something I was blindsided with. I wish you the best!
