Thanks Guys, for the comments.
How many Hal Jordans are enough? While carding the replica, i started to look at my first Hal sculpt from a couple years ago and it kept bugging me how off my sculpt was. So I took another crack at it.
Hal Jordan V.2
Here he is on the left along side the "small head" Hal and my version 1.
I'm happier with this one, but it could be closer... I think i'm obsessed now.
Let me know what you think.

I think the one on the left is pretty damn good, better than your first attempt as you said yourself. But I gotta ask, how did you come by your cast of the real Hal Head, and do you have any spares?
Seriously though, the real one does look kinda small, but I wouldn't complain if I had a cast of it myself!!!

Thanks elvis. The person i got the cast from swore me to secrecy and i gave my word i would not sell casts. There is a guy on e-bay that was selling customs with this head. You may want to check there.
I can sell you a cast of my V.2 sculpt if you are interested.
I thought i was gonna be happy with the "small" Hal cast too. But it kept buggin me that it was small... So i sculpted this one.

I've wanted to do this custom for a while.
JLU Granny Goodness
She is sculpted from head to toe. The arms are Kilowog arms with details sculpted.
Since i was asked a few times, how I work with wax, I took the time to take alot of WIPs
during the head sculpting phase.
Here is the Head sculpt from start to finish.
I started with a wax cast of Kyle. So i could get the scale perfect. Then I clump wax on the head
in general areas that i need to build up, Cheeks, eyebrows, nose...
Then i start refining the shapes. After i got the face to a likeness i'm happy with, I make a mold/cast.
If her hair was short or simple, i would have sculpted with wax, but since its "big hair" and i didnt want to take
all day getting all that wax piled up, i used apoxie sculpt for the hair.
Then after the hair is done i make a final Mold and cast the whole head.
For the body, I went wit a cast of wildcat's torso, and casts of his legs and added the fat.
The waist belt is vinyl and the shoulder/chest strap is paper label.
Then i painted her.
Let me know what you think.

LOL, being a Star Wars geek, too, Glassman, I know you'll get this reference: step #7 in the head sculpt would make a GREAT Bea Arthur Bartender from the Star Wars Holiday Special!
As always, your sculpting amazes us other customizing veterans

Thanks guys for the great comments. Yes tyke Bea does pop in mind when i look at that pic now. Hmmmm, maybe i will make her.
Ok, the obsession continues.
I have tried and failed miseably using hydrospan and hydroshrink over the years.
So i tried and tried and tired again... This time (After 8 casts, and 6 molds) i have got a handle on using the stuff. As i was explaining to one of our fellow customizers, the hydrospan was a trial and error type thing... The first one came out too big... and the second way too small. Then i started to get the swing of using the stuff and how the amount of water affected how much it grew and was able to get a head that was the right size. Most of the detail is captured and i re-sculpted what got left out. So after a handful of trials...
Here is my "big head Hal"
On the left, my latest hal original sculpt, in the middle my Hydrospan Hal, on the right, is a cast of batstew's version of hal.
You can see the carded small head hal in the background... So you can compare the size.
each of these figs are complete casts of the medium jlu body.
Let me know what you think.
