I used Jin Saotome's awesome recipe for a Steampunk Iron Man figure. I changed a few things to make it my own, and because I couldn't figure out what a few of the things were! LOL! This is as it stands today prior to paint. I still need to add the steam bursts and adjust the head, but it is very close to being finished!

Looking awesome so far man! Loving the hex bolts, need to get a rod of that styrene now. What's the best way to cut something you can't roll tho?

Thanks Jin! Like I said, I was blown away by yours and really wanted to try one of my own!! I use a mini miter box and saw. I think it is Xacto brand, but the nice thing is, it has grooves on the inside of the box for different material widths so they don't move around when you are sawing!

That looks spot on excellent! Nice bolt work and shoulder pads. Gear chest portal is a great detail too. Bravo!

Now that is an excellent finish.
I take back my earlier comments and stand corrected.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys!
Jin - Would you believe that "gear" is from a bubble wand! LOL!
I just had some guy message me on Ebay and say "Sorry but Jin Saotome made that a while back!" Not sure if he was telling me it wasn't original, which I have never said it was. Or if he thought mine WAS Jin's and in that case I take it as a big compliment!

Or if he thought mine WAS Jin's and in that case I take it as a big compliment! Some people from a certain figure site that I won't be naming believe once you make a custom the recipe can never be copied and anyone doing so has to be berated for it. And heaven forbid you try and add things to the recipe to make it better or different. So just ignore them. Though they hate it, I post all the parts and techniques used in the creation of any of my customs so that someone CAN make the same thing. You did some really nice work there.
