Reading this series as it comes out-
Biggest thing I noticed-- is I'm all for cheesecake every once in a while-- but the Babs overextended shower scene shots was a bit uneccessary.

That's Tony Daniel for you. You can take the artist out of Image....
BTW, for anyone that's interested: based on leaks and solicitation info, I think it's pretty safe to say that the new Batman and Robin will be
Dick Grayson and Damian.
Yup---the Oracle Tie-in
Nothing like showing a girl in a wheelchair taking off her panties (with only a shot of the chair and her feet- showing her nude (with the normal blocking from view) lifting herself from her chair into the shower, and other real story driver scenes like that..

How was the Oracle issue? I forgot to pick it up... or it was sold out, just didn't see it.
I'm betting Tim Drake will become Red Robin, though I thought it was perfect for Jason Todd before...

I just want them to make that costume in DCUC. It's one of my all-time favorites. I bought the Kingdom Come one, but it's a terrible figure. I insist that my action figures bend at the knees!

LOL
I find it hilarious how a lot of the artists tackle Oracle...completely unrealistic level of fitness in the lower extremities...

Here's the dirty little secret about comic book artists-- most of them have terrible ideas about human anatomy, and are completely unable to break away from their "idealized" human form. That's a big reason why civilians have such a hard time reading comics.

This is true...that particular one just makes me chuckle...
On the whole, I must say I like Tony Daniel's art...and I've met him and he's a really nice guy as well.

I tried issue 1.
Not my cup of tea.
I'm in the camp that Batman should be Bruce. Then again, I thought Grayson should keep the robin name back in the day and Batman's sidekick should get a new name. So I'm willing to give the Batman swap a chance.
I don't like stories where the villains try to kill the heroes.
and
Killer Croc eating henchmen / guards was over the top.
Going to sit this one out, and try Morrison's Batman & Robin when that comes out.

What the hell are you talking about? Statements like that are why "civilians" look down on comic books.

That reminds me--- as up as I am on Batman who was the female inmate supposed to be who they pictured (go figure, changing out her clothes).
Couldnt place her-- was she a one issue wonder?

Most people look at mainstream comic books and see the poor, unrealistic anatomy and dismiss the entire industry as juvenile. Things that those of us that have read comics all (or most) of our lives tend to turn off people that don't regularly read comics. This has gotten a lot better in the past decade or so, with the "Image Style" being largely put behind us, but scenes like the one described above are a BIG reason many people still don't take comics seriously.
Was that clear enough for you?

The "Image Style" ruined comics in the 90s, and while it is much much better these days, there are still some guys out there who have a fuzzy understanding of the human anatomy.
Think about how TIGHT superhero clothes would have to be to look the way they are drawn. Most of the time they are drawn without a hint of fabric rippling or movement...mostly because it's hard to do that.
I was just rereading Ultimates 2 Vol 2, and let me preface this by saying that I think that Cassaday is AMAZING, but there is a panel where Wasp's ear is no where near where a human ear should be. It's so jarring and so bad, it's crazy that he wasn't made to change it (but he was so delayed on that book they probably couldnt afford to wait).
Simplistic art can be a bit of an acquired taste. If you grew up reading comics, then you can forgive that stuff. But civilians look down on it.
