Second issue was great. Reiss' art has been unbelievable, imo.
Agree about the brevity of the book though.

yeah, I REALLY liked that side shot of Mera's face. it made her look like a person instead of just a superhero drawing. I don't know how to explain that any better. the action scenes with the trench were a little busy and clustered for me, but overall, I am very happy with this book. trying to make myself not pick up the new animal man, but I'm buyin the Green (Swamp Thing) and the Blue (Aquaman) already, might have to start buying the Red as well.

I just read issues 1-6... man... Johns has done for Aquaman what Peter David did for him back in the 90s!
The first arc with the Trench made me think of Deepones and Dagon! Since I'm a Lovecraftian Call of Cthulhu nut... all I could think of was Shadow Over Innsmouth!
However, Doctor Stephen Shin... something tells me he could very well be the new Black Manta... I know Black Manta's a black dude and all but something about Shin just points in this direction...

Ha, as I said before, knowing johns, shin will be yellow manta, and then a native american dude will be red manta and then ocean master will end up being white manta and... i'm not calling johns racist, by the way, it's just he's such a literal boring writer. he wouldn't know a metaphor if it rose from the ashes of the phoenix to chew off the back half of him.
i'm not sure i like the direction "the other league" seems to be going. seems like typical johns, to create all new doppleganger teams of existing teams instead of just coming up with a new idea. i swear, sometimes i think johns used to invent he-man villains.
"um, ok, we got fisto. good guy. big silver fist. now, imagine if we had a BAD guy with a big GOLD OPEN HAND! hah? yeah?!"

Haters' gonna hate. I think he's doing a fantastic job on the title.
