After 2 months of the new DCU, what are you recommending and what are you dropping?
I decided to give a whole bunch of new books a chance and have realized I cannot stomach the cost of all of them. So I am looking to drop some. Some choices are easy. Some are not.

Justice League, Batgirl, and Aquaman have ranged from good to great for me. I'm in for the long haul.
Action Comics, Nightwing and Catwoman are on the fence. I'm completing the first arcs and then re-assessing. As I'm not a huge Superman fan, I'm ditching that one for sure.
GL: New Guardians has been underwhelming. I like the concept, but not the execution thus far. I was going to stick through the entire first arc, but unless issue #3 is really good, I'm done with it.
Those are the only DC books I'm getting currently.

All of the Batman, Superman and GL books I'm keeping for now but watching the stories. Justice League, Batgirl, and Aquaman are definitely keepers. Flash, Green Arrow, JLI, Red Lanterns, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Superboy need to show me something. Firestorm was dropped after the first issue. Really disappointed in that.
I think when everything sorts itself out, I'll be keeping:
Batman Detective Dark Knight Batman and Robin Action Comics Superman Green Lantern GL Corps New Guardians Justice League Batgirl Aquaman Flash
Nightwing, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Catwoman could find themselves on that list too
13 books. Considering that I started with almost 24 that's about 50%.

For me it's a very short list:
Aquaman Justice League Red Lanterns
In that order. I am pleasantly surprised at how good Aquaman's book is. I'm only along for the ride, for however long the current creative teams remain intact.

So what's new, if anything, about the new Superman?

My sleeper pick right now is Allstar Western. I've never been a big Jonah Hex fan but the first two issues have me hooked.

I have already dropped Firestorm, Green Arrow, Catwoman, Nightwing, and Justice League Dark.
On the fence about Justice League International, Red Lanterns, Superman and several others.
Keeping for sure Aquaman, Green Lantern, Justice League, Batman, Detective and Action. Action and GL are purely sentimental choices; I've always read them for over 40 years.

Catwoman was a book I gave a chance too. Mostly because of her involvement in Batman Incorporated. But in 2 issues they have broken one of Catwoman's basic elements. The reason Batman has allowed her to 'get away' all these years is because she never killed anyone. (That was part of the background for the origin of the Earth 2 Huntress.) Now she has killed, or at least intentionally caused the deaths of multiple people. How can Batman not put her in jail now, and how can he continue his relationship with her if she is a multiple murderer? It just does not fit with Batman's MO.
With this development, I'm not interested in reading her story.

Well after reading this latest issue of Red Lanterns, I'm much more impressed. It was on the edge of being dropped and now I'm excited for the next issue.

I am picking up these:
Justice League, Green Arrow, Hawk and Dove, Justice League International, Batman and Robin, Batwoman, Green Lantern, Batman, Birds of Prey, Green Lantern Corps, Nightwing, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Supergirl, Aquaman, Batman: The Dark Knight, The Flash, Green Lantern: New Guardians, Superman
I have liked what I've seen so far, since I am new to the comic DC Universe the bar wasn't set as high as it might have been for others. Some titles I may drop later but will give them a few more issues.

Well good news for my wallet...I've pretty much stopped buying the new DC books. I was really excited about it as you could tell from my multiple posts on the new releases but after the first few weeks I stepped back and really thought about how much I was spending each month and what I was getting for that money and it wasn't worth it. Now I may go back and buy these after a month when the price drops but I haven't decided yet. It might be easier to go back to the plan I had before where I didn't buy anything until I knew it was really good. That still leaves me with several older comics to go read. I am still picking up Justice League, Aquaman and Batgirl on release days but every other book just wasn't giving me enough. Not when I want a new tv and possibly house next summer. 50-100 bucks on comics is money I can spend elsewhere. Sorry DC.

I've dropped Action and GL: New Guardians. Couldn't get into the former, and thought the latter was very poorly written. Good concept, poor execution.
I'm down to Aquaman, Justice League, Catwoman, Batgirl, and Nightwing now.
And Catwoman's starting to be a bit iffy.

You reminded me that I did like what Green Lantern was doing. That's on my list too. Still though, I don't feel like I need them on launch day. I can always save an extra dollar if I wait a month.
