found this in forbidden planet in edinburgh but think ill only buy this batman one as im not a great chess fan but was surprised at the amount of info and stuff in the magazine. and the piece itself is quite heavy and looks nice i especially like his cape draping down

These are being offered here in the states through Previews at a rate of one piece per month with a price tag somewhere near the $15 mark if I'm not mistaken.

My son is just starting to really get into Chess (he just joined the Chess club at school and won his first match against one of the Teacher/Supervisors!) and I had considered getting these for him, but it just isn't worth the time and effort at this point.

Maybe when a full set is available all at once on eBay ....

ahh i see well at least you can get them i think batman and joker look ok but the rest look kinda umm uninteresting and as im rubbish at chess and the fact itll be 7.99 per issue from now and and that im buying the marvel graphic novel collection 2 books every month for 20 pounds i wont be collecting the chess set.

Nice how they decide to jump back and forth between new 52 and the regular versions-- I guess they figure people would never get the Harley queen piece if she was done as the new figure.

The new rebooted DC universe (the have dubbed the New 52)-- all of the characters pictures are the new character designs except for Harley-- (whose new version is a ultra slutty pigtailed mishmosh)-- no red and black jester suit..

These look cool, but suffer from the same issue as every custom chess set I have ever seen. The main character is the King. Which means he just sits there while the other pieces do the actual battling. I want Batman to lead the charge. Which would make him the queen. And that does not work thematically.

This might be part of why I play HeroClix, where you can get - and use - just about any hero or villain you can think of on your army and there are no sacred pieces.

and yeah heroclix look interesting i did see 2 different larger sentinels from xmen in the shop
