Yup, that's right.

DC has announced that in Sept., after the release of the 12th issue for the "New 52" comics, they will publish a #0 issue for ALL TITLES.

This 0 issue will tell the origin and introduction of the characters and help establish how they came to be in this "New 52" world.

More details and an "official" announcement to follow shortly I am sure.

I'm okay with it. They did zero issues before back in the 90's and some of them were pretty good.

Yes, it's a gimmick, but that doesn't mean it'll automatically be terrible.

What Shell said though. It's been done - and often - but some of the stories are very good. No different than any other issue I guess. Kind of an annoying gimmick, but mildly so.

Granted, I don't have any information aside from what I posted in the beginning of the thread, but part of me sees this as editorials way of saying, "hmm... maybe we rushed into this and things aren't as clean and tidy as we had hoped. Let's do a month of "special issues" to fix some of our earlier oversights and really set it right. This time. Until we notice more mistakes. ..."

Yes, that is a lot skeptical, cynical, and sarcastic. Yes, that really comes from the backlash of what was a fairly major resetting of the game.

I have been quietly skimming through some of the issues, and yes, I am still committed to getting the first trade for each title (obviously for some it will be the only trade) before I pass any real judgement on the titles, but as a long-time, old-timer who has seen all this "been there, done that" gimmick output before, I can't really say I am expecting great things.

Good maybe, but not great.

Which is a shame really.

The new 52 was the beginning of the end of DC for me.

This may be the end of the end.

The real anticipation for me is when they release the #00 issues.
