Paul Levitz had been joined by Keith Giffen for what many expected was an illustrious second run on Legion of Super-Heroes. That turned out to be a two-month stint on Giffen's part, but enough to bring back the Fatal Five and true to the New 52's "third finger salute to longtime readers" they
killed off Sun Boy and had some Kirby-ish aliens (Giff is aping the King again) cannibalize Dirk Morgna's remains. Also, the HQ crashed on top of Star Boy and it looks like Thom Kallor is now dead as Dillinger.
You know, I figured that LOS was the one book Nelson, Lee, DiDio, Harras, and Johns couldn't f*ck up since it was set a century from now. Well,
Dirk's second death made the first look like something out of a Disney comic. THEY KILLED A SILVER AGE CHARACTER AND SHOWED HOW OTHERS HAD HIM FOR BARBECUE.
