... is apparantly cancelled as of the 12th issue and Annual.
No other DC titles are solicited as the "Final Issue" in this months Previews so I'm not sure what they have planned to replace it or if they are going to be waiting for another slate of cancellations to make a "wave 3" launch.
Time will tell I guess.
I'm a bit upset by the news as I liked (for the most part) the beginning of the series and was looking forward to some of the character dynamics playing out over a longer run.

Ben my understanding is that this will all tie in to Trinity War coming next year that was previewed in the DC FCBD book. So don't give up yet. It's not the last you'll see of those characters.

Yeah, I know about that.
But I find it odd that there is only 1 title being cancelled right now.
DC's big initiative right now is to have 52 titles running for the DCnU 52 universe. Cancelling only 1 title, with no mention of something to replace means they aren't running 52 books anymore. (Mini series and specials don't count in that count before anyone tries to shut me down with that argument).
So, next month I wonder what other titles will be cancelled and what will be introduced. Will it be a "big announcement" like a "third wave" or will it just be some quiet basic launch without much fanfare?

Or maybe they've given up the whole 52 thing...

Or maybe they want to wait til the last possible moment and announce what they believe will be their biggest hit yet.

Which will have the DCIE Rocket Red in it! Out of scale and all even for Liefeld's standards of art!

well, considering that the current Rocket Red is slated to die and his funeral is in the final issue, I can pretty much guarantee that whatever Rocket Red they bring out next will be a giant so as to "shut all us fanboys up" about the scale issues of the Mattel figure.
Its just a quick little "for the fans" b!+chsl@p that Didio would love to do.

Yeah it is. And drawn, plotted, scripted, inked and edited by Rob Liefeld. I've enjoyed the JLI run too though. It's been surprisingly good, and I loved the character mix. I do hope it comes back sooner rather than later, at least in some form.

This run of JLI just didn't seem to fit in the new 52 DC . It felt more like a shadow of the DCU we just left. Like Green Lantern it seemed like a continuation, but at the same time, a continuation someone did not want.
The Hall of Justice blown up and destroyed. Rocket Red killed. Several other members in the hospital. What kind of JL story has that many heroes sidelined? What is the point, to show us how ineffectual this team is? Sorry, but the stories in this book were better off unpublished.
I think management or some part of it must have been against this book from the beginning. Maybe Rocket Red was reintroduced without everyone's knowledge or consent and whomever said "that idea is old and dead" rectified the situation.
I felt the dual headquarters of the satellite and the hall was the greatest idea Meltzer came up with during his run on the book.
My fear is that the end of the series will include more deaths of heroes who deserve better.

I'm sorry to see this book go, but in my opinion it hasn't been as good since the bombing of the Hall of Justice.
