Yup.
Announced in a series of Tweets, and reported by Robot6, Rob Liefeld has abandoned all his books and left DC.
Apparently he has "faith in what DC is doing" but has problems with "management's direction and control of how the universe is being shaped" (paraphrased because I don't have the actual quotes in front of me sorry). Rob just wants to "preserve my sanity" in what he thinks is an unfit and unfair work environment.
He is very public and very vocal about his decision to leave and how DC is handling it. He is already trying to counter any DC spin, even though they haven't said word one about any of this.
Rob says that the upcoming "0" issues will be his last efforts at DC, although he is still listed as a creator on books solicited up to issue #14.
Can't wait to see what the shakedown on this will be.
Don't know if I want DC or Rob to win this fight, though. Neither one is doing anything currently to endear me, but it should be a fun playground catfight to watch I bet.

Good riddance.
Maybe Deathstroke will be worth reading now.

I read today he claimed they outsourced overseas too much. He was rather vague on this...

Bwahahahaha. Oh my God that's funny. I feel bad for Jim Lee, as he basically went to bat for the guy to give him the books. Even though every one of them was at or near the bottom of the sales charts (the ones that weren't cancelled already that is).
Bet this doesn't have anything at all to do with yesterday's announcement about his Bloodstrike garbage being optioned for a movie. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

... he has been saying that he is hard at work on a script and it is the "easiest, most best work I've done". with a self-promoted plug like that, I can't wait to see it!

All that 90s Image crap is garbage. I can't believe some of it is in the DC Universe proper now. I disagree. Some Image stuff was decent. Spawn comes to mind. As does Stormwatch. Backlash is still one of my favorite characters to this day. Brett Booth was an amazing artist.

Spawn and awesome do not belong in the same sentence. Flashy artwork... okay... you got me there... Story in Spawn? Where was it? Just a bunch of news reports and some guy whining about he's now a white guy. Later Stormwatch gets good, the Ellison issues come to mind but in the beginning it was nothing special. Alan Moore Supreme issues are also good but before that... feldercarb... Yes, I used a BSG term!Brett Booth is a good artist and from an artist point of view but flashy art does not always make for good comics I love Shadowhawk... I don't like a single issue of his... but I love the idea, just Jim Valentino couldn't A) draw and B) write his grocery list let alone a comic book. Maybe not all of the pre-wildstorm Image stuff isn't bad. But a good 90% of it is which does indeed eclipse some of the better things. A lot of decent ideas smothered by the 90s-esque need for big breasted women, huge guns, lots of exposition, secret government super soldier experiments and a superhero team on every block!
