There is a light at the end of this tunnel and SO soon... makes me wonder why they even bothered with the events of Amazing Spider-Man 700?

If it's temporary, it's an interesting plot device. I'm mildly curious how he interacts with the Avengers, for example. I kinda enjoyed the Avenging Spider-man issue which dealt with the change.
I didn't buy #700 because the art was just HORRIBLE.

Evidently Peter is still in his body, his spirit or something can have limited control over Ock.
Of course it's a plot device, duh but giving hints of a revelation so soon makes me wonder why they even bothered?
I think it'll tie up loose ends about the Spider-Totem as they always said they would go back and explain how that tied into Brand New Day and One More Day...
