coming soon to DCComics.com!

It was officially announced at the collector's event "last night" (March 21st if you are late to the party) and more information will be revealed on DCComics website "soon".

But let's start talking anyway!

... supposedly, according to the DC PR machine, it'll be "in continuity" to the original show....

It will be interesting to see what they consider "in continuity" because I don't remember the series *ever* having any sort of continuity other than the regular cast and sets. I've read rumors that Clint Eastwood would've played Two-Face if the series had gone another season, something like that would be cool to see. There were other villains that had appeared in the comics but were never used in the series like Poison Ivy who could be drawn to resemble (but not so close to get into "likeness rights" issues) stars of the day like Ann Margaret or Raquel Welch.

I think the best thing that can actually come of this is the possibility of having a Batman comic that is accessable to the whole family without pushing the PG-13 bounderies.

Here's hoping it's better than the bluewater series "the misadventures of adam west" cause that was a terrible turd of a comic. the first four issue miniseries was interesting at least, but when the storyline didnt resolve and instead "continued" in a monthly series, it just was all kindsa stupid.

I will definitely be looking into this.
I am curious if they will introduce any new elements, such as un-used villains or introduce new heroes.
What I think would be perfect for this would be a teamup with the George Reeves Superman.

And now I am going to say the most sacrilegious thing - comics wize- ever...
I would love motion comics of these.
I feel this comic would be perfect for it.
The bright colors and feel of the show lend itself to it.
Get Adam West and Burt Ward back to do voices and it would sell like crazy.

while I am not generally a fan of "motion comics", I agree... this would be the PERFECT series for that approach. Complete with sound effects during the fight scenes, transitions, and at the very end of the issue a "same bat time, same bat channel" blurb ....

great suggestion!

I enjoyed the Misadventures of Adam West by Bluewater. This could be similar fun.

Since I get bothered by New 52 continuity, reading something fun like this may be great.

Bruce Lee Kato would be a better team up.

Motion Comic would be fun.

I don't know that it's that sacrilegious. If you think about it the opening animated sequence to the 66 Batman was like the worlds first motion comic. Seems like this would be a logical extension.
