Hello all. Been loitering for a few months. Just recently started joining in on the convo's.
I managed a collectables store in College for a few years, been collecting since well before that. I even worked for a small media buying/planning agency that handled mainly toy companies, most notably Galoob before they were bought by Hasbro (which meant Grey took all that biz and the agency lost over 40% of its revenue).
So, yes, I love toys. Main faves are Star Wars and Comic oriented lines, but plenty of others. I should have opened my own toy store years ago, or started a website, but I detoured to a different industry. Now I've a 5 year old son and in my efforts to find rare items and cool stuff for his bday and holidays, and well, just in general, I've rekindled the passion and interest in collecting. Already learned a ton about the various lines form the past decade or so. I'll leave it at this: My son has a regular playmate. I can't resist when he asks me to play with him. Now I just need to find a job working with buying/selling/reviewing and reporting on toys. I'd kill to get into the toy shows again, been yeeeaaars. That'd be nirvana.
