Hello, I am a 34yr old father of two boys that are really getting into the Super Hero world.
It brought me back to my youth and my beloved Super Powers figures and vehicles. I decided to check out ebay to see what was floating around and to my surprise you can get just about anything and in some cases loose figures in pretty good shape aren't much more than what new production action figures go for. I am kicking myself for not hanging on to everything I had as a kid, but at some point my Dad cleaned out the attic and I said I didn't want it....hindsight
So my hunt has commenced. I am going to try to collect a bunch of stuff and surprise the boys with the a whole lot of fun stuff. They are still young enough to not really care that it isn't new in the package or what is selling at the local stores. I did give on of them the Dr. Fate I got and he fell in love with it quickly. He took it to school and no one knew who the heck it was...lol. So he can help educate his friends on what are now some obscure DC Comic characters.

Not sure someone as new as myself can actually say, welcome aboard, but I'll say it anyway.

Doesn't it seem like collecting often starts with reminiscing? Sure there are people that collect from a very young age for various reasons, but for a number of us, it is a recapturing the past. Look at how many stories talk of toys being thrown out because we lose sight and have better things to focus on, school, work, family. And then we have children and there is a legitimate reason for having toys in the house again and BLAMMO plastic mania hits us. I'll admit to being one of those.

I like the Super Powers line, but ended up getting the majority of the Marvel Superheroes. Very similar in scale and style.

And very well said Imaginexus. That is exactly what happened to me and now I am on ebay constantly and trying to find ways to get Super Powers figures and vehicles. At first I thought I would get a few figures, but I feel like I want to collect the whole line. I would love to collect NIB examples, but its too pricey for me right now. I may splurge and get a Superman and Batman though as those are two of my favorites for sure and my little guys love them.
