Captain Atom
The Question
Hal Jor...... oops! Wrong thread!
-R
(You guys already named all the characters I would want if I collected this line anyhow. Gotta admit, after seeing the Hal and Hawkman figures, I'm tempted. Now if Matsuda will only ditch the yellow oval....)

Interesting tidbit about the yellow oval; it was introduced not in the comics, but on the chest of one Adam West. The comics then adapted to capitalize on the synergy of commonality between mediums. Timm brought it back in TNBA and the comics once again, caught up to TV; and that's my funfact for the day. (I do enjoy having the Neal Adamsesque yellow oval DCUC fig though.)

I don't think that's right.
"Although the Golden Age officially ended in 1945, the Golden Age Batman remained a stable character for DC Comics until May, 1964 when the modern or "new look" Batman was introduced in Detective Comics 327. The "new look" Batman first appeared in the Batman title in issue 164 and in World's Finest Comics in issue 141. The main distinguishing characteristic of the modern Batman was the bat-symbol on his uniform contained within a yellow oval. " -- from www.goldenagebatman.com/gabathistory.html
The TV show came almost 2 years later
"Batman is a 1960s American television series, based on the DC comic book character Batman. It aired on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) for 2½ seasons from January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968. Because the series had two weekly installments for most of its tenure, it contained the same number of episodes as a five-year or even a five-and-a-half-year run by today's standards (shooting 22-24 episodes per season)." -- from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_(TV_series)
Just a helpful FYI...

I stand corrected. I'm trying to remember where I read that. Well, there goes my street-cred. I am pretty sure Timm switched the cartoon back to the non-oval variety before the comics caught up though.

Maybe you saw a Bat-screen test image for Adam at some point (he had a black bat icon only) and just thought what you thought. No biggy though...

Not collecting this line, but if I was, the classic missing characters are:
Nightwing
Green Arrow
Mirror Master
Sinestro
Shadow Thief is scheduled to appear in the Hawkman episode.
Everywhere Man
I know there are a few Batman villains from the first 4 years that are missing as well, but I cannot recall which ones.
Note, although Aquaman was previously rumored/reported to be appearing this season, he is not going to. I've seen the whole list of episodes and there is no room for an Aquaman episode.
